10/11 sec. cam ONLY cars come in...a thread 4 those looking 4 the ultimate drag cam.
I think its 'bout time we put this to rest. I know myself have been looking for the ultimate cam for stock heads. I wanted to make this thread and hopefully get it stickied, so that those looking for the ultimate drag cam can easily pick the one they want without having to search all over this section.
So...those that have run low 11s and even 10s, please post...
cam specs (manufacturer, duration, lift, LSA, etc.)
HP peak
Dyno graph (if available)
tranny
converter or clutch
rear end gear ratio
shift points
shift extension for autos.
race weight
times (60 ft., 1/8th mile, 1/4 mile)
stock bottom end or list upgrades
Thanks in advance to all who participates in this thread. Im sure it will help out a lot of people, including myself. I know there are a lot of cams out there, but I want to narrow the cams down that push stock headed, naturally aspirated F-bodies into the low 11s/high 10s. I also wanted everyone to include the rest of their setup so that we know what works well with particular setups.
Cam list:
1. LG Motorsports G5X-4 (Juggernaut) XXX/XXX .XXX/.XXX XXX LSA
2. Thunder Racing T-Rex v.2 242/248 .608/.612 110 LSA
3. LG Motorsports G5X-3 XXX/XXX .XXX/.XXX XXX LSA
4. LG Motorsports G5X-2 XXX/XXX .XXX/.XXX XXX LSA

SMOKIN01TA, I know youre one of the few that are in the 10s using the T-Rex cam. Looks like you'll be hitting your 10.60 goal which is unbelievable. Congrats!
By the way, I will edit my original post and create a list with the cams that are pushing high 10s/low 11s. From all the info I receive, I will give ranges. For instance, say that 3 people post that they are running the T-Rex, 1 peaks at 6400, another peaks at 6500, and another peaks around 6600. I'll put peak hp: 6400-6600. I'll try to put in as much info as I know, the rest will be up to those who post and how much they list. Thanks everyone!

why dont you just go back and re-read all the info that people have given you in the more then half dozen threads you've started instead of starting yet another thread asking the same ****.
theres alot more to going fast in the 1/4 then just picking cam spec's from .050

yep, i have one more tenth to go for the overall record, but im in the process of doing 2-3 hundred lbs worth of weight removal so i think i can handle the tenth id also like to get her to do a 1.39 60ft cam only. im still figuring out this new setup and need a lil more time to get it right. cars been a 1.431 so far. and i wont hold my breath but i figure after going from 3310 to 3050lbs or so and figuring out the suspension a 10.40 could be a possibility.
for whoever asked about drivability, is fine if you have a good tuner, but streetable is a person dependent term so i dunno what you can handle.
and the statment about not just choosing a cam is such the truth but seems to be ignored. its attention to detail and all the lil things that in the end add up to give you those few extra tenths. i built my car around the cam and with the parts i thought would work best buy doing research and asking questions, and will continue to do so.

its been said before, but i'll say it again. these cars are a system, and have to be approached as such. you can't just buy a cam and hope everything will work out. it all needs to work w/eachother and compliment eachother, thats when things work best. smokin01ta is running proof of that

And there's always some knowitalls who have runitall who have to chime in and say something on EVERY single thread. Why can't people just let others ask questions? Isn't that what this community was started for? If I recall, there were some not so know it all's not that long ago who questioned every thing everybody did, so ease up people!!! Not to mention those who insist on posting dyno numbers but can run **** at the track, so take info from who helps you for you quest.
