Are you going to adjust it? The single is plenty and is less rotating mass.

I was not planning on adjusting it. Thanks for the info. My car has 20K on it. Can I keep using the stock chain??

You can yes, but most would suggest to change it b/c the rollmasters are stronger and the chain is going to see more pull with the higher revs with the new cam.

You need the adjustable variety just to 'degree' the cam in correct? Even if you're installing 'straight up', don't you want to verify the cam was ground correctly?

Are cams often not ground correctly?

Well, I'll be the FIRST to say I'm not an expert. I'm going off what other's have done with multiple cam swaps; check for accuracy.

So what if I buy a cam from a sponsor who cam drs. their cams? Then there would be no need to degree a cam. The only one that comes in non-adjustable is the single roller, will that be enough for a "big" drag cam only car? I know a lot of people say to get the double for peace of mine, but will I be ok with a single, non-adjustable? If there is no need for a double or adjustable, should I consider a different brand/company for a timing set? I reused my timing chain for my first swap and Im looking into my 2nd swap, but with something more agressive. The car now has 60k+ miles on it, so I feel that it would be a good time to change it come the next swap. Let me know, thanks.

For $8 bucks more, you can get the double roller timing chain. If you're shooting for 10's, why would you want to skimp? Its not horribly heavy, for some extra peace of mind.

$35 more I can have a heated treated double roller. There is just so many out there, its hard to choose the right one. Its like the cams.

Here is a list of different timing sets and chains Ive found:

Cloyes bllet hex adjustable timing chain set $129
Rollmaster heat treated double roller timing chain set $119
Rollmaster double roller timing chain set $92
Roll master single roller non-adjustable timing chain set $84
Comp Cams adjustable timing chain set $190
JWIS timing chain $150
