I went roller master....but you should be fine with the ls2 chain!!! Either way you look at it....you are going to do better then the stock ls1 t-chain.

35thz what lode sep is your 224 cam on? Who tuned it? I'm local like you!!!

well my lsa is 112....jeff creech from north carolina motorsports tuned it. hes good friends with the guys from street motorsports in chesapeake, so he comes up now and then when they get a group of cars that need dyno tuning. hes really good. i have a new set of heads and a bigger cam on the way...and hes tuning my car again. lemme know if u need a tune cuz we can call him and if we get more than 3-4 cars that need it, we can set up a day so itll be worth his drive to spend a day up here. its a fun day, we all usually take a break in bewteen cars and go to hooters and chow down and stare at some ******* gimme a call man.....757-434-4191 jamie

Hey 35z:

He's going to be tuning my Ls1 miata project!!! Ag formula (Chris) has already sent him my ecm for programming ....Jeff tuned off all the items that I'm not using to help me have an easier time when I get it running!! My 224 is on a 114. Then he'll dyno tune it too....Yes I know Greg at Street Motorsports.....its a small world. You hang around Jenro's too I take it? So how do you like the cam and tune that you have? I've seen the dyno curves that Jeff has produced on the 224 cam...I can't wait.

I have stock hand ported heads/ls1manifold for know/ 224/144 cam/ HS 1.7 rockers/6 speed/3.27 ford 7.5 rear......all in a car that should weigh about 2550-2600 lbs.

No Greg at SMS any longer...... I personally like my dual Rollmaster, very sturdy piece, but I also plan to spin to 7000, so I wanted that extra set of chain. I will probably be joining you guys up at SMS for next years dyno day to get mine tuned.

Just wondering - Why are you set against a double chain?

rollmaster is pretty sturdy. i haven't seen pics of the ls2 chain yet. double chains are extra insurance, it takes A LOT of power to snap a chain tho. typically good single chains will do the job until you get a good sized cam. i'll prolly go with double on my fms cam, since i plan to spray from time to time.

dont want the double cause i dont want problems with my pulley and i hear u have to machine it. plus i dont want adjustability. everyone is telling me a single will be more than enough. so i am trying to decide on which to go with. there is a huge diff in price so i want to do it right first

Depends on your application. The Double Roller is a robust piece but not as easy as a single roller to install. Pickup tube alignment, shim position and lousy instructions make this not exactly easy to install. PIA? depends on you and what you plan on doing.

Most installs can get away with a single roller. JWIS chain from KATECH. If I were to do it again, I'd go with the JWIS single roller or LS2 chain.

yeah im sorry i know you did, i didnt mean to be rude either. thanks for the input. i just dont know the difference in the rollmaster and ls2, rollmaster is a jwis chain so maybe i should go with it since it has new sprokets?

if you have an old ASP pulley, than machining it will be required. I think any pulley made after Apr/03 is good to go with double roller timing chains. Check that date tho.

if the pulley wasnt an issue i would still go single, this isnt an all out race car it will be a city driver with some drag passes
