Where exactly is it breaking at? Are the needle bearings coming out, or is the actual body of the rocker itself breaking?

It could be a lifter fault or maybe check the mounting bolt is straight and the threads are ok in the head? Is the valve spring ok, no binding anywhere?

Well, you shouldn't be tightening the rocker when the valves are under compression. The rockers should be tightened in a sequence so as to get the correct torque preload on them. Do them when the valves are closed and use a marker pen to mark them when you've torqued them This way they will all be torqued the same. I heard of an engine built over here which rattled like a goodun because all the rockers were loose due to being tightened in the wrong order.

My guess is that you're torquing it down when the cam wants to open the valve and therefore the setting is loose? Anybody else want to chip in?

It could be the valvetrain binding up. That's a big cam you have in your sig, so valve springs, retainers, and seals better be able to handle that much lift.

What springs are you running?

If you installed them yourself:
What installed height did you set them to?
How much coil clearance do you have at the cam's max lift?
How much retainer to stem seal clearance do you have at the cam's max lift?

Did you install them yourself, or have a shop do it?

What installed height are they set to, and what is their rated coil bind height?

Have you checked for a broken spring? Could you describe what the breakage is like in more detail and how often it's happened?

Mike.
