Default .042 stock bore affordable head gaskets

Mr Gasket makes head gaskets for ls1 stock bore .042 compressed thickness.
It is in their ultra seal line part# 5713G for the left side, and 5714G for the right. The cost $17.00 each retail.I verfied this with their tech line both verbally and though Email.Just an option out there instead of cometic at
76.60 ea.In all fairness they are not mls construction like the cometics but the price point is sweet.Hope this helps.

TTT

I'd really like to know too! These sound like the ticket for more compression and a better quench.

Used a set on my friends and no issues at all, even using spray. Nice head gasket, but personally I would use it mostly from NA applications, not in a boost referenced use. And for the price, it was definately a savior when he got them $34 compared to $165?

Man I was searching for exactley this for some time(I needed .042--.045)/ . Good info. Funny thing the very day this post went up I broke down and bought the cometics earlier that day which I did not want to do due to a very slight "imperfection" on the block that made the graphite gasket more desirable.

I recall the thread, that makes the fact I saw your post RIGHT AFTER I bought the cometics frickin' hilarious ! Thanks for getting this on the forum, this will no doubt help plenty of folks save plenty o' cash.
These stupid cometics better seal correctly.
Good looking out.

Will these work with 853 heads? I have a '99 Z28 and have heard that the MLS gasket for the newer cars will leak because of some notch in them.
