AFR 8019 Spring Upgrade

AFR 8019 Spring Upgrade
How much lift is the AFR 8019 spring upgrade good for? In a few weeks I will be bolting on a set of AFR 205's, FAST LSX intake & FAST 90mm TB, 36# FAST injectors, COMP cam, SLP underdrive pully, COMP 1.75:1 roller rockers with COMP Hi-Tech 7.400 pushrods.
I am asking because with the aftermarket rocker ratio of 1.75:1 it will give my cam about .588 intake and .590 exhaust. I am also concerned about piston/valve clearance and streetability. The cam has a 112 LSA and 228/230 duration @ .050. This isn't a daily driver just my weekend fun car (with ocasional trips to the drag strip). I was reading in another thread about the valve train harmonics and Tony Mamo from AFR said "it seems pretty obvious there is a slight loss of valve control due to the heavier rocker arms past 6000 RPM's...." and "anytime you run an aftermarket heavier rocker set-up, you must opt for our 8019 spring upgrade. It handles the heavier valve gear much better at RPM due to the additional seat pressure and spring rate".
Would this spring upgrade help with the mods I have to bolt on? Should I also go with aftermarket lifters? Also I was reading in that other post about the lifter bleed issue that was run in to. I don't want that to happen so what length push rods would be recommended? ( Honestly I don't even know what lifter bleed is )

I believe there upgraded springs are the Patriot gold springs. There good for .650 lift and should be perfect in your app. As long as there are not alot of miles on your lifter, I wouldn't worry about changing them. Lifter bleed occurs when your checking pre-load and the lifter has no way to stay pumped up. It's not a defect of any kind, it just happens that way because there is no pressure to keep the lifter primed because the engine is not running. If your heads are not milled, then you will be able to run the 7.400 pushrods, if they are milled any substantial amount, you'll need some 7.350's.

Sorry not back to you sooner...was "sidetracked"...LOL
8019 upgrade is NOT the Comp 921....It is the REV 1116 spring (new style).
The best spring for heavier aftermarket rocker gear is the 8019 spring....NOT the 921. The 921 is the perfect spring for use with stock rockers for the customer who doesn't mind spending a few hundred dollars to have the absolute "best" in our opinion. Massive amounts of "QC" and more seat and open pressure than our standard "aka" gold spring. Our standard springs have ALWAYS been the gold spring....the website had incorrect information on it (regarding max valve lift) which has since been rectified.
JRP, in your case I would like to see you run the 8019 spring for maximum valve control....I dont know why but I do know it has worked the best for us on the dyno with aftermarket rockers...its no surprise that those are the springs I have been currently running in my car with the Crane 1.7 aluminum rockers. I feel you need more seat and open pressure (more spring rate) than our current "standard" spring provides for better numbers at 6000+ RPM's.
By the way....if you guys use the "search" button you will find a thread I recently posted stating all of these facts....LOL
Somebody call the "search police"
Regards,
Tony
PS I believe the Comp 921 upgrade is AFR PN 8004

ya, im a dumbass, as soon as you said Rev Duals i knew i read that from you before :o
i'll definately keep the 8019 springs in mind as my setup should pull to 7k quite readily.

The only thing else you would need is (16) .030 shims to tighten up the installed height for the REV spring install. Let me know if I can help....I think your going to need them.
