Well, that's part of the problem in my opinion. The cam may not make the same power with MY combination.... It's really hard to say.

ok i can buy off on that, BUT if i / anyone for that matter/ call and are seriously interested will you at least tell us what we need to know? i highly doubt some one will call for specs just to post em( there some asses like that, but rare)
dur/lift/lsa are only a small portion of specs.
BTW to the other guy who asked about the mods, the gragh says M6 4.10s

This is not the board to post an abnormally high dyno graph unless you plan to back it up with some 126+ mph trap speeds.
I believe whole heartedly that LGM does their homework and makes one hell of a product, but I am getting tired of seeing these 440+ RWHP dynos when on my 2 local dynos the highest H/C 346 to date is below 420 RWHP....And ran 123+ @3400#.

First off, Lou congrats on the great numbers.
As for everyone else, if you want the cam and some "how will it work with my setup" advice, CALL LOU! The bickering is pathetic. If you ARE in the market for a new cam do some homework with the vendors. If you're bench racing and bitching there are other forums for it.
Lou's experience is no different than some of the cams or any other work that many of the other vendors have done. Just because he won't give the specs out for you to go get your custom grind isn't anything to bitch about. I'd be pissed too if it were my dollars on the line and everyone looking for handouts. So quit being a bunch of cheap whining babies. I'm sure if you were to actually "BUY" something from Lou he wouldn't leave you clueless.
Congrats on the great work!

i dont think we(me scince i evidently started this looong ordeal ) are crying about it, its the way its preceived, preception is everything nowdays. how bout:
New g5x-2 does this and that CALL/Email for details or This product is still under development. or somthing like that. NOT
hey, we got this and its badass but we aint gonna tell ya what it is unless ya buy it! ya right
ya know you guys make great produts and do put some time into it and im by no means a marketing guru but i am an everyday joe and that isnt how we think when it comes to spending lots of hard earned money on a car. you can preach about profits and R/D cost all day but your gonna sell your product regardless, and your gonna make that spent money back.hell 2hrs ago noone knew this cam exsisted, now you have a 2 page adversisment on it, all becuz of buyer/potential feedback.ok nuff debateim done....great numbers and good luck at the track (no sarcasm)

I am extremely impressed by the torque curve....I can't believe how fat it is The low RPM for the peak HP makes me suspect something pretty radical along the lines of possibly ~108°-110° L/C
As I mentioned in my first post....how do I find out more info on this cam for my specific application? I have S2 LS1 heads and really need to know how much power and driveability I'd be giving up and if PV clearance is an issue.
Again, congrats on pulling out the stops and please tweak that A/F a bit....I'll bet 470 RWHP at ~13:1 A/F at peak HP It's really great to see the LSX camshaft development work continuing!

Re: G5X-2 cam & head Dyno Numbers
Niphilli,
This same car with 418 rwhp on our dyno, ran an 11.7 at 121.2 a couple of months ago. this is a 6 speed, and stock weight. It now has 45 more hp. Unfortunately it is going to Indiana, where it is snowing, so this car will have to wait till spring to run.
We have one customer who drags her A4 firebird, and she ran 11.06 at 122 and her A4 dyno numbers were 408 rwhp, unlocked, if I remember right. So our dyno is pretty accurate. I will tell my son to get to Indy and get his car dyno at some other shop to get some other numbers.
Thanks
Lou G

I'm with Derty
What Lou is talking about is very TYPICAL OF BUISNESS! Right now he has the edge and wants to hold on to it as long as possible. Sure it won't be long before someone starts to copy the cam BUT Lou needs to reap as much as he can FOR HIS R&D. ITS CALLED BUISNESS FOR SOME OF YOU. Lou gave a pretty good description of it for some of you slower folk (like BYBYC5)
BYBYC5 STOP BEING SUCH A
BTW very impressive #'s Lou
Lou can you comment on the drivability. Good for a daily driver, not so good. Did it have all the bolt ons i.e. headers, lid, LS6 intake etc.
Thanks for any info.

Yes all the bolt ons. LS6 heads, LG6 intake, 410 gears, G2 air lid. full belts, dynatech headers with custom y pipe, run open y pipe ported TB and stock maf.
The car is heading up to Indiana in the morning to the SNOW, so it will get a test on the way up there as far as durvability.
Thanks,
Lou Gigliotti LGM

Controversy is always an attention producer. Gotta love it!

TONS of people bought the camshafts and learned the specs after they had paid. They saw the results and wanted them. Its not like LG is a fly-by-night shop, they have a solid reputation. They aren't in the business of steering their customers wrong. I'd be willing to bet that more T1/B1 cams have been sold than any other LS1 camshaft. It was really funny when other shops started selling copies, even calling them "B1" and "T1", which were named after MTI customers (Brooke 1 and Tony 1, myself). So, Lou KNOWS that some shops like to ride the trends and copy cam specs. This isn't a new thing, its been going on as long as camshafts have been made for any engine. LOL!
Competition is fierce. Everyone seems to believe that there are some "magical" camshafts for these cars and they tend to give the cams more credit than they deserve. Its really just a well balanced combo that produces the numbers. Cam specs are only a few variables of the many in the entire output potential.
I'm sure the cam specs will come out sooner or later. It took about a month for his G5 specs to come out. Let him enjoy the results of his work for awhile. Just make sure you understand the importance of a good combination of parts.

Re: G5X-2 cam & head Dyno Numbers
Everyone one is pissing and moaning about cam specs and disclosing specs. Let's not forget that this PACKAGE hit the numbers. So even if Lou releases the specs on the cam, it doesn't mean that other people will yield the same results without using these LS6 heads. All I see happening is people wanting this cam because they think it will magically pull 450+ hp with their combination. I think what Lou is trying to eliminate is people JUST using this cam and bitching because they didn't get the results he did. If you want the results, buy the package. Lou is a genius in my book. If he is in fact marketing this setup, he's selling the whole package which eliminates the queston of "will this work with my setup?" Why would you go with a different head with hopes of more power. This is one of the best graphs I've seen in a while.
You rock Lou!

Re: G5X-2 cam & head Dyno Numbers
i could care less about if you want to keep your cam specs secret. they are YOUR specs. if it runs the number and makes the power on the dyno then why complain? like was said cam doctor it if it concerns you so much to know the specs. however, if i was to call up i would expect a good explanation of how this cam would perform around town, driveability, powerband, idle quality etc etc. if not then thats definently

How can you say this. First off no Cartek H/C cars have produced 460+ rwhp, yet. Their "X" packages all produces 440-455 rwhp. 2 guys, Brent and Mark both went high 10's at 125+ mph, and 6 guys are in the 11 teens, waiting to crack 10's. These guys don't count??? Very few F-Body guys generally don't have the loot to shell out for the higher priced "X" package (LS6 heads) so that's why Cartek's F-Body crowd is a little less.
You couldn't be more wrong.
I myself have their "X" package but never posted my dyno results for this very reason. I've yet to run it yet (clutch issues) but I am very confident my ET and trap speed will be close to the other packages when I install the TH400.

Re: G5X-2 cam & head Dyno Numbers
I am a dealer for Cartek and have installed over 25 head/cam setups on various GEN 3 motors. We dyno here locally and just about everyone made the horspower and torque across the band as stated. In addition the cars have consistently backed up there dyno results with matching 1/4 times and mph. The one's that may have fallen short where cars they either had poor deck heights (factory) or oil burners.Lou's numbers are modest but not unrealistic. Expect 2003 to hold some surprises for more power out of the stock bottom end! It would be nice to see results from other "cash and carry" customers. Sometimes certain cars just make stupid numbers and don't reflect the average of the package. Cartek will tell you straight up that there guys running 10.80's (who I know) all are incredible drivers and that there package HAS the potential to run there but can easily run 11.00-11.20 for the average consumer.
Lou, great job in pushing the envelope! Lets see some #'s like that in a C5 and another F-body with full exhaust.
