imo that would be a great but slightly aggressive daily driveable cam but i think you shout do a 112 lsa in a 6-speed car.

I agree on the 112 lsa part. My 233/239 is fine as a daily driver and it would be even better for you having the steeper gears.

Like many others on this board, I afford it by turning my own wrenchs.

Pulleys are a good mod. Since you will be bumping up the idle a bit with that cam anyway, you won't even see your lights go dim at idle with a pulley. So yes, a pulley is even better with a cam, and better in a M6.

Fifteen bucks nets me somewhere aroung 75 miles.

237/242 .603/.609 113 here, daily driver, in an auto. And like many others I am only 21, get horrid gas mileage, and save money by doing all the installs myself. (except the torque converter)

It's worth it when you turn the key and listen to it idle. Or better yet, put the pedal to the floor.

I turn my own wrenches, but the money I save by installing myself, I spend on tools. This comes in hands since Im now on my 5th true dual setup (i keep cutting up and re welding). But seriously, it takes a little bit of time before you get comfortable tearing into cars, but after a while you get good and quick at it, have a crap load of tools, and start saving some real coin on big installs. This site as well as ls1 howto and the like are great ways to make sure you know what youre doing before you attempt the install. Hell, thanks to this site I even did my own gears, and theyre still togather and still silent 20K later.

As far as the cam, there are people daily driving bigger cams than that. It all depends on what youre willing to put up with. Youll be dealing with a rough idle, some loss of torque, maybe even some challenging drivability (not so much with the 4.10s) and some terrible gas millage. Youll probably feel its worth it for the added power, i know I would. As long as you dont abuse your motor and keep off the (sane) revlimiter, you should be okay.

I enjoy my 235/240 cam with 4.11 gears in my daily driver. Definitely wouldn't be for everybody, though. It revs a lot quicker than the stock tach will move, had to get a shift light.

Big cam = crappy gas mileage....even on a good tune.
