Cyl 2 Misfire - kill me now

Hey guys, on my way to work today my SES light was flashin. I scanned it and it generated 2 codes. They were both "Misfire on Cyl #2" it was like P0302 or whatever it is. So i went home and took off the coil, took out the plug, and checked out the plug wire. They all visibly lookd okay, i didnt have anyone there to help me check it for spark tho. Last time i drove it before this morning it ran fine, im pissed and just want some advice on how to test **** and how to determine the problem. Thanks a lot guys, you have always been able to help me out a lot.

It can be valvetrain related. Check the rockers, pushrods and springs on cylinder 2 after you verify the ignition.

Try swapin coil packs with a different cylinder, if the misfire moves you have your culprit.

yah, i checked and it doesnt look like that plug is gettin a spark. So its gatta be either the plug wire, the plug itself, or the coil back, or the computer itself.....right?

Swap the coil with a different cylinder like Sapphire said. I highly doubt it's the computer.

First swap the electrics. The coil, the wire and the plug with a good cylinder.

No, than swap the injector with a known good cylinder. Does the problem move?

No than you have a mechanical.

You can also try loosening the plug wire, start it up and then use insulated pliars to move the wire slightly away from the plug, you should hear the spark jumping to the plug.
