Nice! Would you give us a detailed explanation of exactly how that works if you have the time?

I clicked the link. I was just wondering where the lines ran to because of fitment capabilities.

Like they said in the corvette forums post, there's more to it than just HP. It also helps with oil consumption, engine life, ring sealing, better idling, and so on. The added HP is just a bonus. I'd be interested in it if you can make it go on a F-body.

Andy, is this a sealed unit where the only crankcase breathing is through the pump (like a complete race setup) or is the PCV system still intact? Also did it build a good vacuum in the crankcase? I would have thought it to be worth a little more HP, but that may be all there is on a stock ring engine. I like the setup especially on a C5/6 where there is no room, or for someone wanting to keep the A/C. Good work!

Joseph,

The PCV system is scrapped and all crankcase breathing is through the pump. Both pumps sue an adjustable check-relief valve to regulate vacuum levels. The Performance model uses a separate relief valve while the race model has the adjustable relief valve built into the pump assembly, located between the inlet and outlet.

The typical street application will pull 5”-7” of vacuum at cruising speeds and 12”-14” of vacuum at WOT. However, crank the relief valve down and you can easily pull 22” of vacuum with the Performance model and nearly 30” with the Race model.

Higher vacuum levels definitely will put up serious HP gains but bear in mind that’s applicable at the race track where as street use has limits that need to be adhered to.

****... looks like it might be able to help my problem right now where my 6.0 was obviously built loose (for an easy 200-300 shot of N20) and I'm getting ridiculous detonation

Thanks for the info Charlie, I'm happy to see it built this way. I wouldn't run more than 14lbs on a stock engine, and some built engines don't need much more than that either.

I wonder which would be better for a weekend driver? Some street, some track. Could you run the race on a street driven car? or would there be any point?

14-15 lbs will give you all the ring seal you need. for that much money it should be electric so that you can hide it say where the a.i.r. pump used to be and not have to mess with your accessory belt.
