Default How much RWHP do the big Cammed australian cars make?

Topic says it all. How much RWHP will a 260-280duration cam on a 346 make @ the wheels?

With a good set of heads and a shitload of compression, I think 530rwhp or so. At least Futral and Thunder have done that with solid rollers.

Down here is Aus we use Eddie Current dynos and not the Dynojet, as such they read lower. Now with 260-280 degrees of duration do you mean solid lifter? I would assume so. Let me just say that my engine builder/tuner "Aussie Ls1", has made 512RWHP and run a 10.7 in a manual sedan. Another car that I know of makes 454 RWHP and has run a flat 11 @126.4 MPH. Hope that this sheds some light on the topic.

I don't know if they are solid lifter or not. Pete was telling me about some cars with 260+ 103LSA cams and awesome driveability. Just trying to put things together.

I do not think they much more power then what we do over here as far as WOT. Kind of like comparing two identical engines but one is injected and the other with a carb. They will both be very close at WOT, but a good injection management system makes all aspects bout infinitely adjustable.

Down under they have the SD tuning for the larger cams figured out very well to make the idle and driveability very tolerable compared to what people call "stock like" around here. Interesting stuff.

these crazy austlians also do a lot of individual throttle bodies and big boy standalones with 'per cylinder' controls, so that might have a lot to do with drivability of 103LSA cams.

Try the link below for an example of Aussie engineering skill at its best.

This combined with SD tuning van tame even the biggest cams

Keep in mind that the really big cams are using 8TB intakes. The cars over there are 3900 lbs too. So keep the times posted in perspective.

Here is a video of a 242/242 106LSA 105ICL.

I drove a 273/273 104LSA 103 ICL cam in Craig's Ute. It had a 4000 stall and was a load of fun to drive on the street.

You could also post up on ls1.com.au. I'm sure folks would answer up what HP they are making...

Exactly. Most of the street cars with ITB's are crazy but not that insane though. Usually around mid 250's with a 106 lsa (big by our standards). Speed density is really a great tool also in helping those cars drive.
