Turn car off, engine sounds like crap when sutting off after cam??
I'm not sure if this is just a pure effect from the cam, or something needs to be adjusted in the tune or torques, but when I shut the engine off, instead of immediately shutting off smoothly with no noise, rattle or anything else like it used to,
it now rattles, knocks around and sounds like garbage when it stops.
Is this just b/c of the big cam in there?
Just wondering...

May be a stupid question, but are you doing anything differently... like leaving the clutch out when you shut it down?
If I dont keep the clutch pushed in when I shut it down, it sounds like a bunch of marbles in a can.

ok cool. Wasn't sure if anyone else had the same thing or not. doesn't sound pretty that's all I know. Feels and sounds like the engine took a crap, lol.
Oh, you shouldn't need to keep your clutch in to shut off your car, just put it in neutral.
Think its your throw out bearing going, not your engine.

Definitely sounds to me like dieseling, which is a form of autoignition in which a gasoline engine continues to fire after the ignition has been shut off. In late-model emission-controlled engines, dieseling or run-on is caused by heat and the unusually high manifold pressure that result from retarding the spark at idle.
Again I ask - did you get the car tuned after the cam install?

It could be dieseling, thats the first thing I thought of when I saw the topic. (I remember you replied to my post about it like 8 months ago 777)
