Default Couple Noob Piston Q's

i have found most of what im looking for, but i have a couple of what i think are noobie questions, so please bare with me.

LS1, LQ4, LQ9....do they use the same pistons? or is there a different bore, or anything else?

72cc head, and pistons witha 23cc dish, what would the resulting CR be?

again, sorry for the noob type questions, but i appreciate the help.

They use the same pistons, they can be different bore (LQ4/9 is 4.00 stock)

What head gasket and bore and stroke? You will need that info to figure out your compression ratio.

http://www.c5frc.com/calculators/Com...Calculator.htm

Looks like that would make your compression ratio too low, even for FI.

im lookin to end up around 9:1....but even if it can be brought back to 8.5:1, i think that would be acceptable

1 more question...I am having trouble rods that are 6.200". Cant seem to find them anywhere. You guys have any idea where they'd be purchased from? Would that make a difference in the CR ratio? Sorry again, I just need this info, and searching isnt resulting in the answers i need.

You can use a thinner head gasket. But I would reccomend pistons with less of a dish and heads with a smaller combustion chamber. Milllng the heads is more for when you want to raise the CR for a NA motor. There are cheaper ways to get the right CR from the start, like the right pistons and the right heads.

I know, there is just a good deal right now, and i wanted to figure out if it was worth going after or not. The motor is still in the planning stages, so i am trying to figure out if i can use these pistons or not. Hence all the questions. If I went with 64cc heads, and a slightly thinner HG, that should put me near an area i want to be. That is something i can easily do. I am having a problem finding the correct rods to go with them right now. I dont want to buy something if I cannot not use it....thats why i am here trying to figure it out. Thanx for the help, it all is appreciated.
