Royal purple vs. Castrole
I have been running royal purple oil in my T/A with a supercharger. Now money is a little tight and i want to put something a little cheaper in it. Will something else like Castrole hurt my engine??????

I doubt it would hurt your engine. Royal Purple has anti-foaming agents in it to help prevent and break up entrained air. It also has a heat-fighting additive. These additives are what make the oil so expensive. But, I'm a firm believer in, "you gets what you pays for".
I do not know if Castrol has any of the additives contained in Royal Purple, but, for my money, you can't go too far wrong running straight synthetic; i.e., Castrol, Mobil 1, etc.

I've been told that it's a bad idea to break in a new cam with synthetic oil, because, get this, it's TOO slippery. The information I've heard on the subject says to break the cam in using a petroleum-based oil, preferrably during stable weather conditions; i.e., fairly constant day-to-day temperatures, so you can use a straight-weight oil.
This could be pure BS, but it's what I've heard.
