Cam Help, please read.
People are telling me that my cam is too much for the street. They say it will never be right. I believe the specs to be 224/224/580. what can I do to make it streetable? Are there any other guys out there running cammed autos as daily drivers?

Do a search for TR224 or comp cams 224. Many many people using the 224 cam on here for daily drivers. Its a very streetable cam. In fact theres many people who have daily driver autos on here w/ Much bigger cams. You can find more info than you ever wanted on that cam when you search on it.

I have a comp cam 224/228 .581 .581 112 LSA on an A4 and with a good tune and a 3600 stall this cam is more than streetable. I love this cam personelly, but that's just me. Can't understand why people are telling you this cam is not streetable? This is acctually considered in the middle of the pack as far as cam's go. Just my .02 though.

A 224 cam with a half-*** sloppy tune would easily be considered streetable. That same cam with an above par tune is what constitutes the 'ideal daily driver cam'.

And yeah "driverness" should be a word.

I drove a 99' Trans Am with full bolt-ons, 4.30s, and a Thunder Racing 224 cam for almost a year with NO tune at all. Car drove just fine, just had to wait a few seconds on startup so it could find an idle. Only thing that was done to the car was a drilled and ported throttle body and the rev limiter set at 6700 to help it run good, but with all of that said, it was a six speed car. Get a good tune with the auto and it will drive just like stock and your gas mileage shouldn't hurt either.
If you put the stock cam back in that car, I promise that you will regret doing it!

Just going on ESP's recommendation. They said a TC would POTENTIALLY fix the prob. and that'd be an expensive experiment that I can't afford (I'm 16). I'll just go back to stock, do a cpl more lil things and maybe eventually throw the cam back in. I am just acting on Ken's advise, who I trust tremendously.

Dude, a 224 is a baby cam compared to whats going around now. Hell, I had a 231/237 .598/.595 112LSA in my A4 car. Thats still not a huge cam compared to others but it is alot bigger then the baby 224. I ran it for about 2 months on a stock tune, until I saved and had it tuned. The car ran real good, it was a tad rough for the 1st week but once it was tuned it drove like stock. well minus the lope. I dont understand why in the hell they would be telling you a 224 would be to much, am I missing something?
