Default is TR224/224 too small for me? help please!!

Im throwin a stock 03 LS6 longblock in my car...My sLs1 motor went down...
I have a TR224/224-114 lsa that i was thinking about putting in it. Is this good?bad? should i go bigger? heres my specs
---stock A4 car--no stall until it goes--prolly a 3500-3600stall after that
---pacesetters (no cats)
---LSX 90/90 most likely
---slp lid
---heads will be stock LS6 heads
---dont care about gas mileage that much
---drive it more on street than i do strip (sometimes)

will this cam be a good option to drop in? Let me know what you guys are thinking. The searches gave me some ideas, but no car is the same. any help is appreciated. Thanks
Keegan

I have it and love it, but I wish I when a little bigger
there's a lot of options in cams now. 225 seems better now. Just depends what you are going to be doing with the car

I'll throw in my 2 cents. I have two sets of advice for you.

First I think you're making a mistake by keeping the stock torque converter until it goes. I don't hear about too many stock torque converters going bad. Perhaps you meant when the tranny went bad? Even so, the 4L60E can last a LONG time when power is moderate, temps stay low and luck runs high. I wouldn't want to be making nice power through a cam and then be unable to take advantage of it because my stall kept me under my powerband. I would make it my first priority to get a 3600 stall, trans cooler and maybe even a shift kit. Then I would sell that 224 cam and buy one just a tad bigger. I kind of like the idea of a 230/230 mixed with a 3600 stall and a good tune.

But if you're dead set against getting a stall then you may as well install the 224/224 114 cam. That cam is about as big as I would want to go on a stock stall. You'll still have to climb up to your powerband from a dig or low speed roll but it won't be as bad as it would with 228+ cams.

Good Luck with whatever you end up doing.

That's a good cam. You also don't want to go big on a stock torque converter.
