Default stage II patriat heads or t rex

i have 2k ta with 6spd with pacesetter headers off road cutouts ac deleted and battery in back of car. custom tune and cam 595/610 232-240 lift i just put 410 on the car. i was thinking of keeping my same cam and putting patriat heads with it or put a t rex cam with my setup and do heads later? my current setup putting down about 410 rear wheel and i have the stock rear end with the girdle.

While I do not really recommend Patriot heads, they would benefit you more than T-Rex.
If you get the heads, just make sure they will clear that cam without flycutting.
Ported heads have bigger valves.

Sounds like you got your answer, so let me ask you an off-topic, potentially derailing question.

A lot of people say not to waste money on the 10-bolt, but the most I'm going to have in the car is a 224/224 cam, bolt-ons, and full exhaust. To continue my Internet message board disclaimer, I'm well aware that a bone stock LS1 is capable of breaking a 10-bolt.

This car is for the track, right? How hard do you launch (what RPM, do you dump the clutch, etc.)? What type/brand/size of tires?

4.11s are in my future. If I can get by with it, i'd rather it be in the stock 10-bolt. It would take a bachelor like me forever to save a couple thousand dollars or so to get a 12-bolt.

why do you say patriat heads are not that good. afr heads run almost 2100-2500 dollars. i was thinking a lot of guys with 10 bolts with t rex's or t rex killer are making close to or almost 500 rear wheel horsepower! i have already broke rear end once but i really donnot shist very high at all usually maybe 3k or less?

LOL. Why not. I have made 450-475rwhp, and made 10 second passes in ALOT of stock bottom end cars with out of the box patroits. (Check out the dyno section). I hand finished mine and made 490/446 through a 9inch on 28/11.50 slicks.

Its frustrating to see slams on a good product, with no first hand experience on the product.

To answer the question, Id get the patriots. You may be close on clearence as stated, but it SHOULD fit. If not, just knotch it!

i have partiot stage 2 heads and have had no problems with them at all. car makes almost 430rwhp with mods in sig. daily drivin, hard i might say too. would say don't be scared of the partiots because of price or what people say, everyone drives differently. but there are better ones out there. i want AFR 205's but could not afford them when i got my heads and other mods. whatever you choose, you will most likely be happy. good luck with your build - matt

do you think the heads would be better than getting the t rex! the only the reason i say this is because i would really like to get a bigger cam than what i have and then do heads because i think my cam is a little bit small compared to the top ls1 in the country!

I think some heads will be better, research some brands. The cam you got now seems pretty good size.

I was wanting to rum a t-rex cam on my stage 2 patriot heads. Since I drive my car daily through traffic, thunder racing asured me that the t-rex was not the cam to get. They told me to go with the 233/239 cam.

when i put my cam in at first i wanted the most agressvie i could put in there without flycutting pistons i took out the ac and i'm in texas i've had it like that for two years. my main concern is when i put a moser on my car i don not want it to rob me of to much horsepower. the way i see it the more i put down the more i will have when i do change my axle. i think with my combo with a decent intake i could get maybe 450 or more rearwheel power. some of the guys on this forum have t rex's making 430-450+ through auto and manuals, and just image if you put heads on a t rex! i'm pretty new at this but input would be great.

My .02 Cents would be Patriot Heads. I love mine couldn't be happier with the power I am making. I mean sure I could have spent 1000k more on a different set but for the difference in HP I didn't find it worth the money. Patriot guys are really great to work with also.
