Default afr 205's vs mti 2e heads

Which do you guys think are better and by how much? I always thought afr couldn't be touched, but it sounds like mti has a good thing going there!

I have done H/C from both... The end story is you will make less hp with the MTI setup... I wasted a lot of money chasing this and ignored a lot of good advice from the forum... No big deal it only costed me money...

AFR's heads are new castings, and they have spent a considerable amount of time creating a combustion chamber that improves power. MTI is one of the better factory head porters on the marktet, but they cannot change the design of the combustion chamber so this one goes to AFR. Now if MTI offered ported AFR's, that might be the ultimate combo right there. Maybe we will see this union of power makers in the future.

The MTI 2Es have been out for several years. Until the advent of the AFR 205s, you didn't see many heads/cam 346s making over 450 rwhp. But since the AFRs have been out, it's pretty compelling to see that greatest number of combos that exceed 450 rwhp are running the AFR 205s. Keep in mind that the 205s are a street oriented head. With the small bore 225s just around the corner, I would expect you'll see a lot more 500 rwhp numbers from heads/cam combos in the near future.
