Mine are not flexable head and I got it off so you should just try it, should work fine.

quick question that got overlooked:
i disconnected the power steering cooler that plugs into the radiator, lost a tiny bit of oil. does that refill with the oil change?

Also, does someone have a diagram of the 2 belts on the car? That way when I reassemble I know how the belts go over the pulleys.

well i'm off to get a gear wrench

Lol, I think you were supposed to draw a diagram before you took them off. It's kind of tricky without one. Do you still have the sticker on the car that shows them? If I remember right there is a sticker in the engine bay.

there should be a diagram on the driver's side fenderwell, a little below where the hood struts attach.

If someone removed that or it fell off, just keep in mind that a ribbed pulley means the textured side of the belt faces inward, and a smooth pulley means that the smooth part of the belt faces inward. Remember that and you should be able to figure it out even without the diagram.

I used a 1/4" ratchet and cut off about a third of the length of a 10mm deep socket. That allows it to fit under the hose straight up and down.

Well if it's not there. Just off of memory the belt (ribbed down) goes over the power steering pulley. Then under the big water pump pulley. Then over the tensioner pulley. Then under the crank pulley. Then up and over the idler pulley (ribbed up) and then down under the alternator pulley.

The a/c is simple. It wraps around the crank and the ac compressor. Then put the belt in between the idler and the tensioner.

it's not that hard if you lower the pan a little. At least that's what I did, but I also was replacing the pan anyways because I put a pineapple sized hole in the bottom of it.

I didn't say that the oil pump bolt was hard. It's just that if he was struggling with that bolt he will be struggling with the oil pump bolt. I know how it is about being out of it and not really getting anything done effeciently.

okay guys, PANIC

i got the cam out, and on the last part of the cam, there are shavings stuck on it. I hope to get pictures up within the next hour. I'm really worried why there are shavings on my cam.

I was very gentle taking the cam out. maybe these shavings came from me pulling and turning the cam at the same time? if you can give me any imput before my friend gets here with the digital camera, that would be great
