Need help! H/C install
I really wish the search was up right now.
K, I tried to fire my car up last night.
With the coils unplugged the car turned over fine. So I tried to fire it up and nothing - just turns over with the packs connected.
Whats some common problems with a H/C install and not being able to fire up? Where should I start here? cause I am really lost on why it will not start.
I installed the H/C that is in my sig. Double Roller chain, ported ls6 pump, 7.4 hardended pushrods, ngk tr55's from the box, msd wires. Took off my AIR and EGR (block off plates etc...)

I think I may just try the stock wires and see what happens. All the grounds on the back of the heads are in good. I just go over everything again see what I can find.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Are you getting fuel to the rails? Maybe something got jacked up when the intake and fuel system came off. Did the cam sensor get umplugged for any reason? Just poking around for ideas...
EDIT: Oh, and did you turn it over by hand first before cranking?

Everything seems good w/ the battery. Lights up in the car and the headlights flash when I unlock it. The radio good as well...
Took a little over a month...waiting on parts most the time.

Still not firing!
7.4 is the correct pushrod length right? I am certain it is.
I am going to swap the msd wires for the stockers, see if that helps.
What else??? I followed ls1howto's instructions perfectly.
Cam is dot to dot. Turned the motor over by hand a bunch never stoped etc...
PTV clearance is good cause Jason at TSP took care of that.
Coil packs are ok for now, I got them bolted down some what. Still need the correct brackets cause TSP sent me ones from a Silverado appearently.
I am really lost here

You're missing something all together. All you need is gas, air and spark for the motor to run, just like anything else. Process of elimination. Pull a plug check for a strong spark, get a fuel pressure guage and hook it up to your fuel rail, should be 58psi. Have the fuses having to do with the car starting checked.
This might sound dumb, but do you have gas?
The pump might prime, but that doesnt mean its not going out. Mine went out slowly when everyone told me it worked or it didnt, eventually the car wouldnt start, but it still made noise. Might as well replace the filter while youre in there.
A motor is not a miracle, something obvious is a miss, youre probably just missing it because youve been looking at it so much. Call a good fbod budy or two to come take a look, 2, 3 or 4 heads are better then one.
good luck.
EDIT Did you put a rubber stop in the intake?

I just swapped the stock injectors with some SVO 30#.
But yeah its getting fuel and lots of it. When I pulled the injectors off a ton of fuel came with it so I really think fuel pressure is not a problem.
I checked for spark, but there was nothing. So it has to be the coil packs. I have been ****** around with the packs all day and got no where.

Yeah I found something that works good.

Are they all out? Then I would suspect something else. Atleast you've isolated the problem. Make sure all the connectors to them are in good and that the main white connector is in good aswell. Maybe use some connetor cleaner.
If thats not it, you have some kind of power failure. I wouldnt know what fuses to check as ive never seen this problem or tried to fix it. But somewhere either you missed a plug, a fuse is bad, or something is grounded.
