Default Coolant in Oil

My supercharged head/cam 370 iron block is 2 weeks old and i found tons of coolant in the oil. i have been loosing coolant and now i know that this is why. What could be causing this? the block is brand new, the heads are brand new and the gaskets are of course brand new. what is the problem??? help is greatly appreciated.

Did you build it yourself? if not...It's brand new, talk to the builder. I would be pissed off. Could be a head gasket, do a leak down test.

yeeeep... i'm gonna go with the heads weren't torqued right. Do you have ARP head studs? If so, some were having problems with the studs not sitting as far down as they should, thus not providing enough sealing pressure when the nut was torqued down. Orrr the mechanic was an idiot and torqued them to GM specs instead of ARP specs.

Yep, you've lifted a head in addition to the above mentioned conditions the builder should have verified both the heads and block mating sufaces were squared, and that no fluid, including oil was in the head bolt holes when they were torqued.
good luck

i torqued the heads myself, could it be the heads? i bought them off of a member here. they were new but could have been defective. would it be uncommon for these patriot heads to leak coolant?

did u just torque them once to 80ft/lbs and that was it or did u do it the way your suposed to do it and torque them all to i think its 22 lbs then turn them another 90 degrees. just go to ls1howto.com and it will tell u how to properly tighten down the bolts, that is if u didnt do it right the first time.

i followedd the directions exactly. with the arp studs you are supposed to make passes at 27ft/lb, 54ftlbs, and 80ftlbs, then do it at 80ftlbs twice more

possibly, it dynoed at 655rwhp after i had noticed coolant consumption. if i blew the gasket it would have shown in the dyno results. are patriots known to occasionally be faulty?

i know a guy that put patriot heads on his TA he wasnt a huge fan of them, but as far as them being faulty occasionally i couldnt tell u, u might want to ask some guys on this site or make a thread about patriot heads and ask all the guys who used them i what they thought about them and if they had any problems with them, and what kind of problems.

Did you check them again after a few heat cycles?

patriot had a problem for leeking oil through the valve seals, and maibe droping a valve or 2 but that was like 2 or 3 years ago. I never heard of patriot heads leaking coolant or just blowing up like that or being warped in some way at the deck. I got PP ls6 style heads on my car and haven't had a problem with them. What head gaskets do u have. If they are feelpro or what ever the spelling is i'll check those first.

From what I've read, people use a sealent in conjunction to the cometic head gasket or they'll leak.
