Default Best LS1 heads (853/241 castings) out there?

Who's LS1 heads are putting out the best flow numbers (mid-range too) AND the track times to back them up?

You are asking a relative question. TEA/ET would be my first choice, followed by WCCH/PRC. Hell, almost all the established shops out there are getting on a level playing field with stock castings. Search around some, within the recent 10 pages you will find some good info.

bingo. flow numbers and track times are all relative within a given context.

at any rate with the price of 243 casting being so cheap i wouldnt really bother with an 853/241 head. or just step up to an aftermarket head, though as of now AFR is the only one with enough data out there to make a well enough decision.

Gonna keep it vague here for a bit, where would you put the ported 5.3s among the 243s/aftermarket castings out there? I'm looking to match up well with an LPE GT2-3 cam...

Why not go with the LPE heads to match your cam?? LPE does some very good head work.

The same configuration exactly. 853 is sand cast and the 241 is die cast. They also changed the way that they pressed in the intake seats, but its hardly noticeable, unless you know what you are looking for.
