I decided to add a cam to my full bolton setup. It's a street car only. I'm going with Speed Inc.'s 224/224 581/581 114. It's a Comp Cam. PR, springs, a new timing chain and oil pump will get installed with the cam. I don't see heads in my future; you can take that either way. I'm hoping to hit 370 rwhp. The 12 bolt and 4.10's hold back the dyno numbers. With this install the car should be complete other than a replacement clutch at some point. I'm thinking the LS7 clutch should be proven by the time I'm ready for a replacement.
Any comments. Do I look okay here? Thanks.

I have never run a cam this small in my car, but from what i hear this cam is one of the most driver friendly cams out there. I think you should be extremely close to 370 if not more, and will be able to drive it daily with no cam surge.
Good luck with it, and keep us posted with some numbers.

Yea the 224 cam is pretty much the standard street cam now. You'll love it and the guys at Speed Inc are awesome, I deal with them all the time. Good luck! ![The Judge](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_judge.gif)
EDIT: Where on the Southside are you from???

Omega, I'm an old fart living in Oak Lawn, a little south of Midway. And yep, Speed Inc. has done all of my installs. Larry and Tom are great to work with.
ls1greyhound, My car's been low on the dyno. I think the numbers are down because I have a 12 bolt and 4.11's. So, I'm setting my expectations kind of low. Although, Speed Inc. expects around 380 rwhp and they know my car. That would really satisfy me. I don't think I'd have to worry about stock C6's anymore.

from what i have read 370-380 is about where it should be. Im sure you will be satisifed with it.
deciding on a cam was the hardest thing for me. I ended up going with the Thunder Racing TR227, with pushrods, comp 918's, gaskets, Ram Powergrip HD clutch, ported oil pump, LS2 timing chain, adjustable master cylinder, and a new slave cylinder. Now i cant wait untill spring break to put it all in
im shooting 380-385 rwhp or so through a stock 10 bolt M6 car, but we will see in about a month...

I would think you would end up with a little more than that with the 224 cam and a ls6 intake. I did 372 with my 218 563 cam still with a ls1 intake. Then again I don't know how much is usually lost through a 12 bolt. Good luck, keep us posted

I went with the 222.222 based on Larry's (Speed Inc) recommendation. I dont go to the track; just enjoy the car on the street. I debated for a long time whether to go with the 224 or 222. I guess I like the low end power (0-?) for street driving & humiliating my opponents. Mines VERY streetable, almost like a sleeper with stock rims. I suprise the **** out of anyone who tries to race me.
