Default All new CRANE BAD BOY cam specs!

For those who want to achieve that BAD *** cam sound with barely streetable driving manors with rough and ragged idle, here are the specs for the LS1 and other popular V8's.

I like the smaller cam of the bunch with a power range of 3600-6600 rpm.

Specs are 232/242 @.050, .600 lift, 110 lsa,

Match this cam with some high velocity intake runner heads (AFR 205, DART 205). For a fast and cool sounding 346 LS1

on a 110 those are definitely some rough idlers. set idle around 850-900 and be a cruise-in king.

Non-emissions legal, not intended for highway use, does that mean its still "street legal"

The one with the 106 lsa.. I'm sure that's perfectly streetable LOL. If my heads weren't cut as much as they are. I'd actually think about getting that one, I bet it would work awesome with my 4.10 geared TH400 setup along with my 4500+ converter... but streetable, I highly doubt it.

That cam and a set of fully ported trick flow heads, or the big darts or afr's? I'd almost think about staying 346 CI on my next buildup just to see how that would work.

Tuning some of those with a MAF would be a bitch. SD tuning would make them more docile and streetworthy.
I can see a couple of grinds fitting nicely in a 383

240/246, .600/.600 112 (4200>7000)
19* overlap on a 346

I wonder what is the ICL on those? Looks straight up by rpm range ?

Agreed on Speed density tuning.

Crane almost always grinds their cams 5* advanced.

That would not make sense on the 240/246 112+5
47 IVC is unlikely to carry power to 7K
112+0 is 52 IVC
112+2 is 50 IVC
112+4 is 48 IVC

If you look at the grind number, the number next to the "A" may be the advance ground into the cam.

Makes sense, good eye man, so:

240/246, .600/.600 112+4 (4200>7000)

48 IVC hmmmmm
That thing should make some good trq

anyone has some info on the ramp rate?

.004" versus .006" of the Comp Cams everyone is familiar with. Hard to tell.

+1

lobes do a lot more work than people give them credit for. the majority of people are only interested in sound.

Crane Bad Boy Hydraulic Roller intake ramp rates. I did not list the solid roller versions.

Intake Profile HR-232/353 - 294@.004...232@.050...152@.200 .600 Lift
Intake Profile HR-236/353 - 298@.004...236@.050...155@.200 .600 Lift
Intake Profile HR-240/353 - 302@.004...240@.050...158@.200 .600 Lift

These ramp rates are faster than CompCams LS1 Xtreme series but slower than XE-R series by a slight margin.
