good cam for my mods....?
looking at my choices, want something strong with a mean lope.
I have a 3800 stall with stage 2 heads 2.02/1.60 valves, 65cc chambers and 941 springs.
the killer is that i'm running on 2.73's, but may upgrade to 3.42s later on. I have HPT and can get a good tune down with some help.
so far my choices are
F13, F14, and Torquer 2.
Texas Speed Torquer v.2 Camshaft
TSP XS Series Camshaft: Torquer 2 232/234, .595"/.598" on a 113 LSA if would work well.
I'd probably go with 918's since they are adequate, and dont think i'd go with a cam over .600 lift. If i got PRC duals i'd have to also get spring seats correct? So the 918's should already work with the 941 seats. The reason id upgrade springs is that they have about 10-15K miles, 8K of which was on Mightymouse's car (made 850rwhp and ran a 9.92 1/4) so they've probably seen their last days.
any ideas will be appreciated. thanks guys

Any of the cams you mentioned will be okay with your setup but you will not get the full benefit of their high rpm power band with the 2.73 gears. I would go with 3.73 gears or a smaller cam such as the TR224/114 cam (224/224 ICL=110 LSA=114) if you were going to keep the 2.73 gears.
As for the springs the 918s are adequate but you will be right at their rated limit. I would go with the PRC dual springs.
I also think you will receive more feedback if I move it to the Internal Engine section.

Definitely gears, and you'll bust the heck out of that 12.0. Really I should say 12-bolt & gears, though I don't have any room to talk. I still have my 10-bolt, but added a girdle. I think if you're looking at the F14, you might as well eliminate the F13. They seem to make about the same power (certainly the same with your 2.73's), but the F14 lopes like a big dog. Check out this vid from LS1sounds.com. As for comparing the F14 and the Torquer v2 (is anyone else tired of adding v2? Let's skip it from now on, 'cause who's looking' at the Torquer v1???), I think you'd be happy with either one, and they are both a "Right Decision" in terms of power. I'd guess the F14 is marginally easier on the springs because I think the Torquer has X-ER lobes, so you'd probably want dual springs, but you could get away with 918's on the F14. There's a big difference between changing 918's and dual springs, and you'll appreciate that down the road, if you're doing it yourself (and looking for a !#*@ spring compressor that works like it's supposed to on dual springs).

You can get the Torquer on a 112 LSA, too. Whose Stage2 heads and were they milled at all? If so, you may want to check PTV if you're going with the 112 on either cam, especially with advance ground in (typically +2 - +4). But the 112 will make it easier for you to get to cam's peak power. The 112 LSA will move the peak power down a little and earlier in terms of rpm, as well as give it a wicked lope ...harder to tune it for your A4 though.

Regardless you are going to want to get the PRC duals. I say this because you will more than likely want to get another cam later and you may move to something bigger, where the PRC's are needed. Plus it is added insurance regardless of what cam you choose. Also you are pushing the envelope with a lift of .595/.598, might as well be safe.
Next, whether you are getting a smaller cam, a larger cam, or no cam at all, ditch the 2.73's. Go with at least 3.73 prolly 4.10s to get the most out of a cam like the torquer...which is a great cam by the way.
Out of those 3 cams, its between the F14 and the Torquer for me...with the Torquer getting the nod. Thats just me however. Those are all GREAT cams and you cant go wrong with any of them.

my heads are 98 ported heads by Agostino Racing (when they used to be the ones to go to). I dont believe they've been milled, I'm still running stock length pushrods.
PRC duals have a special seat correct? thanks
