Please check out the video! For those of you that know alot about engines, you should be able to tell right away. I'm probably buying this car early next week, but he wants a deposit ASAP because there are a few people after it.
I was told the car smokes because its running so rich at idle. When its revved there is NO smoke.. Do i believe this? Here is a link to the video. (it takes awhile to download) What worries me most.. Is the smoke looks pretty blueish... Its not black like its running rich. The guy said the valvles were new on the rebuild.

Sometimes blue smoke can mean bad things, or just a crappy PCV. I had some serious blue smoke the past 2 weeks after my h/c install, and i found my PCV valve is cracked in 1/2 and held together with electrical tape. I <3 used cars.
It helped a lot, but there might still be an issue - but point being it could be bad it could mean nothing. Can't really tell ya without seeing it.
Also, Louisiana flood car? beware of those mate. if it were me, anything from the south I'd not touch after Katrina with all the flood cars hitting the market. Carfax isn't the holy graile of car history.

I would be a little leary of that one... It was hard to tell from the video but it looked like it is only smoking out the left bank, or at least smoking worse out the left bank. I think that would suggest a problem.

Yes, everything was installed/dyno tuned by Futral motorsports. It does not have cats. Its got headers, x pipe, and just straight pipes... Hopefully thats why it smokes!?

Serioulsy, where is the car located? If it IS in Louisiana, I may be able to take a look at it for you as I now live in Lafayette. As well you may want to talk to Futral directly and see what they know about the car.

01 Vettes are know of having a potential ring sealing issue. It's caused by sustained high RPM driving. Do a search on the corvette boards about this. Not saying this is a bad car, but budget a re-ring kit in your future if this is the issue.

I was serious when I asked if its from Louisiana... it belongs to my friends friend then... the car was stock until he got it and it hasnt been modded long... sounds like a beast, looks like it runs strong.

general rule of thumb: if its blue smoke dont buy it, unless its a great deal and you want to do engine work. This is especialy true of a car that has been modded. My car is at 80k miles and 440 rwhp and no smoke ever. Your talking about a car with a bigger cam that has been rev'ed harder and higher and it smokes. I wouldnt buy it unless your getting a great deal, or yuou plan on refreshing the bottom end. This car has aftermarket heads, I dont think its a valve seal issue.
Now I'll look at the vid

This car was built early this year and now hes selling it? Must be messed up.
its not normal to smoke at idle. its normal to puff smoke under WOT because its rich but not at idle.
