If you plan on using those you'll need to replace the intake valves with something larger than the stock 1.898" and of course a complete valve job.
I bought a set and had a buddy of mine port them and put new seats in then set them up with 2.02" intakes and stock dia (1.575") exhausts...if you can get the machine work done cheap and get them prorted and flowed I'd say go for it. If you want guarenteed power I'd say buy some off the shelf with proven numbers.

Some of the venders will take them and CNC them for you...that might be a plan somewhere in between. But then again some of the vendors here have some pretty sweet deals on complete head packages.

You can buy those and have them cnc'ed and a valve job from TSP and then get the their prc spring kit and you'll be ahead of the game money wise

not gonna get into a pissing match about who cnc's better. The point is $75 for 5.3's is a good price and can be worked with to make a good head. Mine are from TSP and they flow every bit as good as Tea but for less money. Go with the better deal. You'll need gaskets and a few other things and TSP will work with you on the pricing of it all. this is my advise. Call TSP tell em Blanco sent ya.

Call Texas Speed and tell them you have a set of 5.3 heads you want ported and polished and they'll tell you all you need to do to them. You'll need valve springs to match your cam choice. You dont need to mill them at all.
