Default What lifters??

Ok guys I almost got everything I want for my installs. I'm goin with a set of TSP LS6 CNC heads along with the cam, spring kit & pushrods in my sig. The rest of the mods goin on are in the sig. Along with ARP rod bolts. I want to upgrade lifters when I do my H/C swap. I just don't know what size or type to get for my application. I need advise from the professionals.

I went with Morels, top notch quality and the oiling system is a little different to aid with the lifter sitting lower in the bore. Also has a slightly larger roller so the roller RPM will be reduced for a given camshaft RPM.

LS7 lifters are selling for around $120, I just ordered a set but they have not arrived yet. These are basically the same as stock replacements.

Are they encapsulated? I'm hearing everyone complain about the stockers because they are non-encapsulated.
They are a direct fit into LS1/6 engines? This might be an option for me instaed of hunting down mellings.

Comp OE. They will be much easier to set up than the Comp R lifters. I am running the OE's in mine as is Anthony. Jordan had the Comp R's in his V6 and then switched to the Comp OE because of how noisy the R's were....once he switched, that noise was gone and we know the rest (or at least those of us from around here....oklahoma....do).

I've seen some really large duration/high lift cams on OE replacement lifters. Unless you wanna spend a fortune on the morel or lunati lifters, I think the OE's will do you well!

or if you want some baller factor, get the morels

EDIT: I hear the lunatis are the same as the morels, just not as expensive, can anyone confirm this for me?

Rhoads lifters are going in on mine and the car should be finished relatively soon. On your cam the lifters will make you cam profile a little more streetable meaning sitting at a red. then ofcourse once you get going then power is restored. WE have a few followers waiting for my results there are others who have swapped and has seen low end driveability..let me check my threads then I'll link it

Ok got it

My LS7 lifters just arrived, and yes they are encapsulated. I feel they are an EXCELLENT deal at the going price. PM PewterSSZ if you are interested, he got mine shipped out VERY fast.

The "R" lifters are supposed to be set to zero lash and then tighten the polylock and set screw with the engine warm. This presents as somewhat of a conundrum in that you have to remove the heads and intake to install your new lifters. Even the guys in the NHRA fuel pits aren't that fast. Besides, installing a new set of lifters means they've havn't as yet been warmed up (pumped up) for the first time. The only solution is to put the engine together, let it warm up and take the coil packs and rocker covers off and then do the polylock adjustment all over again. Talk about a royal pain in the ***. I've had a set of "R"s in my 99 Silverado for about 5 years now. Once I put the motor together I never went back and did the adjustment with the engine warm as recommended. I guess I got the adjustment right the first time. That was over 50K miles ago. The engine was clacking (sewing machine sound) like crazy for the first few minutes, but then it slowly quieted down. That's normal for these motors when the key is turned for the first time after a tear down. You just have to grit your theeth until the noise goes away and then you can breathe a sigh of relief.
