i didn't have any problem changing plugs? using simple extensions and wratchet combo..no swivel or anything.

regarding your tune-up, i would've seafoamed it, top end & gas tank...then changed plugs/wires and fuel filter, air filter..maybe autorx'd the oil and changed it, as well. just depends on how far you want to go.

Remove your coil pack, makes a world of difference. I use a good 1/4 drive ratchet and swivel, with a 1/4-3/8 adpt. to spark plug socket, works great.

Back bolt is a tough one to get out on the coil pack. Some leave it out I slotted the hole on the bracket, reinstalled the bolt at a a good height to where I can slide the back of the bracket back in. Then install the rest of the bolts.

Remove the AIR hoses too, if you have them on the car. That, combined with removing the coil packs makes the job a million times easier.

Since my headers are in teh way, its actually harder for me to do #8 from underneath. It's really not bad from the top once you get the hang of it.

Now to the issue. #8 for me is easiest from the bottom (M6). On my fiancees car I have to get it from the top because the tranny lines are in the way(A4). #6 I haven't found to be much problem.

You just need to find the right combination of ratchet, extension, swivel, socket to get it done. I found that using a reducer like a 3/8" drive to 1/4" drive will sometimes give me the right length to reach the plug and still be able to ratchet.

Pulling the coil packs and air tube (If you haven't already) will make your life a whole lot easier.

Just saw I posted almost the same thing as "618HAWK". At least you know it works.

i got to #8 from the top. i removed the coil packs, and the air tubes. it took me about 30 minutes just to figure out what combo to use with it. i used the spark plug extension combined with 1 extension about the size of your pinky finger and the one half that size. also, get the extention on the spark plug BEFORE you attach it to the wrench. this is key. and once you get it on (take sa couple minutes to angle it right) you'll only be able to turn it about 3-5 clicks (1-3 clicks each way) and i couldnt get the breaker bar in there, so you'll really have to muscle it. o and def use mech gloves in there, something cut me pretty good when i was trying to muscle the last plug off, and i broke it too, but thats something else. good luck

wait just htinking about it the #8 is on the pass side right? b/c i didnt remove anything from the driver side and i have huge hands...im 6-5
