Default 59cc Dart heads, 90/90, G5X3 cam install is complete.

Well, I am happy to say, after working on the car for a month when time allows, the car is finished. This is my 1st time ever doing anything like this and after doing it all myself (for the most part) it all came together. I did have some smoking at first but then discovered I did not have my oil dipstick tube in causeing some oil to blow out..

Specs on the new stuff:
Dart 205's milled down to 59cc
.040" Cometic Gaskets (yes, I notched the pistons)
90/90 set up
G5X3 Cam on a 114
New Oil pump, Timing Chain, Pushrods, Lifters, 36# injectors, Z06 MAF, etc
Under drive pulley.

And everything else in my sig.

Im getting the car Dyno tuned on Thursday.. Hoping for some good numbers.

Wanted to thank TSP for putting up with my calls every other day and Bobby over at LGM for answering questions for me, LS1Tech for answering my questions too. And my bud Gino that helped me out as well..

Here is the vid. from under the hood.
http://video.ls1tech.com/video/857fb...5b8550f117.htm

Here is an idle vid. ~1000 RPM
http://video.ls1tech.com/video/0e7d6...7f18d30069.htm

All untuned as I just played around with the idle screw.

What lift on the cam? Did you stay with the Dart valves/springs?

Sounds nice, can't wait to see the numbers on it

I can't wait to see these #'s

For the little bit I got to drive my car with the cam before the motor puked I was in love with the X3 cam. It idled great at 800 RPM and the pull up top was insane for a cam only setup.

The lifts are .600 .610.. Yea, I stayed with the dart set up.. They claim the springs are good up to .625 and I saw a thread not too long back that verified this..

I too have a similar set up... on an A4 none the less.... It is refreshing to see some healthy A4's for a change... I always hate hearing the typical "Why not an M6"?

I am running an RPM4 cam 232/236 .595 .601, Yank SY3500,pulley,long tubes,true duals "out the rear",LS6 intake,28.8 injectors( mines a 2000, had the 26's)
Ported TB, my car dynoed @ 388rwhp dumped.. 377ran out the back.. My LS6"S 243's will be done by the end of the week.. I am having a local guy CNC, port/polish & trick them out a little.. I'll post pic's and numbers once installed... Congrats on your set up.. Sounds great!!

Not cam related but about 250 miles after I got done with the cam swap the motor lost oil pressure. I dropped the pan and found a ton of metal shavings and chunks. I'm shopping for a new shortblock this week.

Thumbs up

Congrats on a killer setup. This thing will put down some killer track numbers. I would shift this thing at 6800 rpms.

Do you know what your compression is with that gasket, mill and cam?? I will be running a TRex and would like to get a good DCR with a cam that size.
