Good question.

My guess, based on my experience with the MS3 and it's similarity: For performance the bigger the better. Minimum recommended: ~4,000

What do you say, TSP?

Absolutely go 4000. Trust me. I installed the MS3 with a 3500 stall speed converter and later replaced it with a 4k, then a different 4k (first one had issues). Big difference between the two speeds (noticed mostly in 60' at the track), it really needs the 4k.

The *real* power won't start at 2800. My MS3 doesn't come on till at least 4, and really hits by 4500. Matches perfectly to my 4k stall.

4000 should be no problem to DD. I DD 4400 and it was rough the first week but I got used to it. It's a blast now. My gas mileage went to the ******* though. 20+mpg in the city is now 10mpg in the city.

Not true at all, I have been running a .640 lift cam for at least 28,000 miles and have yet experienced valve float or any other valve train wear (lifters, rockers, valve stems...etc). I have had these springs in my personal car for two years and as far as I know the springs still have plenty of life left on them, one of these days I'll pull them out and compare them to a newer spring to see what exactly the mileage has done to them.

Ya sorry about that. I thought that I had read that in a different LSK lobed cam thread, but I was mistaken.

Damn, I promised my wife I would keep the SS stock. I can see a MS4 cammed 11:1 347, with some ported LS6 heads and a Fast 90/90 combo heading my way when the turbo car get finished. Should be good fun with a 6spd, good clutch and 9 inch with 4.30 gears and 28x10.5 ET drags.

That would make for a killer DD.

depends on what kind of tires you will be using, but assuming you are using slicks i would say 1.7's maybe 1.6's. Somone correct me if im wrong.

2002 LS1, stock heads and internals with LT's, full exhaust and intake. Would the MS3 make more under and curve power than the MS4 on the same shot?

Our last test car gained 72 rear wheel horsepower with the MS4 & underdrive pulley!
Any updates on the MS4 on a 110? How much of a difference would this make and in what situations would a 110 be benificial?

Bear with me....I'm a newb......

My under/average performing car pulled consistent 1.64 60's with all bolt ons, MS3, 3.23s and TCI SSF4000, a little weight reduction and ET Streets.

Depends on how big of a converter you're willing to run and how much tuning you're willing to put in. The MS4 is quite a bit bigger than the G5X3. It will take quite a bit more tuning and a lot more converter.

With the G5x3 112, LG is probably going to tell you to flycut your pistons for precautionary reasons. Although I have seen some people put a 112 in their motor without flycutting, it's best that you measure and see exactly how close it is. The G5x3 on a 114, should be just fine.

TSP has already said the MS4 clears, with no milling of the heads, stock gaskets. It's your choice on what you want to do, just letting you know since some people do not want to flycut.

this isn't entirely true. the x3 and ms4 aren't that much different. i talked to lg about a converter for the x3 on a 114 (or 112) and their suggestion was no less than 3,500...which is much less than the minimum recommendation for an ms4. the g5x4 is closer to the ms4, the x3 is just a bebe
