Default Oil Pressure too Low?

hey guys, mods are below

I run 5w-30 Amsoil Synthetic and filter. After installing the cam i've notice the oil pressure to be pretty good, maybe around 60psi? Now that its warm out, (in the 70's today) once I got to temperature, and i was idling, I was somewhere down to 38-40psi according to the factory gauge. Now when I was driving, everything was back up to 60.

Any problems here? Or normal?

seems fairly normal, when im waiting @ a light for a few sec's i see it drop ALOT the 1st time i saw it i was like ummm hmmm but everythings cool, it is odd though, like when cruising @ 70 or so when not on the throttle im up around 55 or 60 but when i get on the throttle a bit (and it doesnt downshift) the psi drops to like 40, odd it is

The oil pressure is fine but I wouldn't run 5/30 in the hot months. We run atleast 10/40 or even 15/50 on Cammed/high revving cars.

I just put it in....should I dump it out? Amsoil isn't so cheap, but neather is a new engine.

She doesn't get out much (not daily driven) but when she is out, she gets some beatin'

What do you think?

just a random question, I bought some oil for my Camaro, which I run Dino oil in, and the bottles say SAE60. Is that synthetic? I musta grabbed the wrong box

Thanks for the advise everyone else!! I feel better!

mine is stock and it runs around the same, since the weather is warmer now the pressure will probable run a little lower because the oil is hotter which thins it out more, the oil is thicker when cold so the pressure is up inorder to get pushed through the oil galleries. SAE60 is a single weight oil and i would not use it, someone correct me if im wrong but, i dont know the demands for an aftermarket camed engine, but with a multi-wieght oil such as 10w30, when the engine is cold the oil will have a lower viscosity which attemps to make the oil thinner when cold and when the engine warms up then thats where the 30 comes in to help keep the oil stable at high temps. For one i wouldnt put a single wieght oil in my engine for that reason and second, 60 is too heavy of a visocity it run in these engines. like they said, try running like a 10w40 in the summer. its a little thicker than 5w30 which may be helpful in warmer climates. its not such a big deal in the summer but SAE60 in the winter will be pretty sluggish and just unhealthy. correct me if im wrong

The 60w should work well in an HD Shovelhead
