you curious too? I'm trying to find out cause i think i'm about to throw a Torquer 2 in my TA but i have .030 head gaskets, so that's like .024 or so less than stock, so i'm just wondering if i can run the cam with these gaskets or if i'll have to run a stock gasket just to not need flycutting.

No one has been of much help, but i talked to a guy at TSP and he said he doesn't recommend more than .015 milling, i dunno if the 113 LSA would make a difference of not.

Yes the 113 will make a difference, but if you are going cam only the 112 is better.
you could run a .045 gasket with the 113 (stock valves/unmilled) but no more than that.

I milled my heads .040, .060 MLS gasket, and flycut .090 which left me with .160 p to v on the intake. That means I would have had .110 clearance on a stock unmilled heads. Milling .030 would have put me at .080 clearance, which is really in the danger zone. This is with ralatively thick .060 gaskets and only 2* advance vs. the standard 4* which would reduce clearance even further.

I thought .100 was the safe distince on exhaust and .08 was the intake safe distance. The start unmilled is .110 so using a .040 puts you at .096". That isnt good? Its a stage 1 head with raceflo stock sized valves. I will flycut in the future. I have .040 gaskets at the moment. This cam doesnt have any exhaust valve clearance issues?

When flycutting how far down does the piston have to be to effectively be at the height where contact is made? When you did the flycutting did you have the pistons at the top?

When you flycut, the piston is at TDC.

A nickle thickness flycut is sufficient both intake and exhaust. PTV clearance is however measured at 10* BTDC & ATDC.
At TDC both valves are closed, no contact.

Thats exactly what I used for my flycuts. A nickle is .075 thick (i also touched mine up a little deeper afterwards)
