Default Best cam that'll fit under stock heads?

What's the best cam that will fit under stock 241 heads? I wanna put a bigger cam in my TA but i dont want to have to flycut. I want a cam that puts out some decent power, but it's gotta sound nasty. I want it to lope HARD, but not so lopey it'll be hard as hell to tune. What do ya'll suggest?

I have this same question, my tsp 225 just isn't lopey enough. I've been looking at the MS3 on a 112 LCA.

that F15 looks like a beast from the specs, i might think about the F14, i'd kinda rather keep it under 600 lift for better spring life. The F14 looks like the same specs as a Torquer V2. I kinda wonder about Futral's cams after that bad batch of F13's they put out.

Run with dual springs and up the lift. You'll have a lot more area under the curve. Patrick G had a lot of success with the TRak cam.

you can also email Lunati / Comp / TSP/ Thunderracing etc.etc. and see what they have.. I have a Lunati grind cam in my 99 formy and its a 234/236 .050 .544 .545 @ 110 LSA Lopes REALLY NOTICABLY..but wont shake the hell outta your car either..completely streetable..with that cam i put down 385/395 w/ a stock LS1 intake and stock throttlebody...since then i bought an LS6 and an 80 mm BBK and yes i had LT's and the loudmouth 1 exhaust..

Shoot Slowhawk a PM I just installed on of his cams in a friends car with 241 heads sounds mint loops hard and put 400+ rwhp with basic cam bolt on's.

Another cam you could go with a g5x2 or g5x3 they'll fit and give good power

See sig for vids:

I am running G5X2 on my car and I like it alot. In a week I will have dyno numbers for a cam and bolt on car with a LS6 intake. I am hoping 400 but i would like just a little over 400.

Exactly why I sold mine. Go with a G5X4....the BEST cam only cam in my opinion. If you want to stay around .600" lift, the F14 will work well, or the G5X2.

If you have a forged bottom, don't you have valve reliefs in your pistons?

the previous owner got the engine built, if i would have done it, then i would have done pistons with valve reliefs. That's the problem with buying modded cars i guess, everyone mods differently. I didn't know how bad these LS1's are with PTV until recently. I've only messed with LT1's until i got this TA. My friends LT1 has like .060 off the heads and a big cam with no PTV issues and an LS1 cant take hardly any milling with a decent sized cam, with flycutting.

Yes right now i have patriot heads on the car, but i'm taking them off soon and putting low milage 241 heads with 650 lift springs on. (Dont ask me why, it's a long story)

Well, there you go, you have springs to handle the lift, go for something like the T-Rak. 2 valve engines LOVE higher lift.

Our stage 2R cam will fit but its close I still recommend checking piston to valve. Its 236@.050 and its on a 113 Lobe sep. .602 lift.

The web site is wrong its a 113 LS , you can call me or Rick on monday
