Default What type thread sealer on rocker bolts?

I know on Dart heads the rocker bolt holes sort of poke through into the intake runner, what thread sealer/ lock do you use? I have the red stick locktite thread sealer... expensive stuff. That is what I used last time but I heard there was different stuff for the application. Also, who puts anything on their head bolts to ensure propper torque.

I've used red loctite for a long time, but some people use the loctite with teflon and supposedly have had good results.

You dont need thread sealant on the rocker bolts, you need thread locker. I usually use blue Permatex blue on most fasteners. I usually don't use the red because the Permetex red thread lockers is pretty much super glue for fasteners. Getting them loose is really difficult and it can even break small bolts. I used red on my pressure plate bolts though.

As for the second question, ARP HIGHLY reccomends, almost requires that you use their moly lube on most if not all of their fasteners. It's basically grease for the bolt/nut that allows you to get the proper torque. Without it, some of the torque you use to tighten the fastener is lost to friction, which undertorques the fastener. I think motor oil can be used too, but it's more dangerous to use especially on head bolts.

I have used teflon paste in a pich on the rocker bolts and it worked fine.

Ideally I'd use Loctite BLUE.

i use permatex PST.... its their thread sealer with teflon.

i only use sealer if the heads are ported.. otherwise, theres no need.

with the tiny heads of the rocker bolts, i dont use thread locker, but i do torque them carefully. none have ever come loose yet...

Use the blue thread locker. The intake bolt hole is exposed in the runner.
