Default Tell me what i fucked up

ok to put this short and sweet, after making a i went and sprayed a pass, something fucked up with my car.

sprayed through first, seond, and some of third, everything felt fine. my o2s were at 875 through the whole run, and all was good untill this happened.

i was coasting to slow down and my car bogged down and shut off. it took some cranking to get it going but it started back up, but the car felt choppy. i stopped and took off and it felt fine for a second then got realll choppy like it wasnt firing on all cylinders. then next time i come to a stop, (heres where it gets worse) im puffing out some white smoke.

i get home and notice its mainly shooting smoke from the driver side (i have true duals) and i threw a code, P0400 which is bank 1 o2 sensor.

i pulled the plugs today and everyone looks good except for number 7, which has a little oil on it and the gap is completely closed. so i figure thats why its missing but that doesnt solve my coolant problem. i drained the oil, no chuncks of metal or any of that good stuff and no coolant in the oil

i think i blew the head gasket, hopefully its just the head gasket. as long as i didnt **** anything up in the bottom end i guess its ok, maybe just gods way of saying make it faster.

sorry for the long post, i guess it wasnt short and sweet. just tell me what you guys think went wrong.

thanks

do a leak down test, that will tell you where its leaking from. ie bent valve, burnt head gasket, busted piston/ringland

ya, i need to call my buddy to come over to help me do a leakdown test.

if it was a piston, or something to do with the ring, dont you think it would be making some kind of noise, there isnt any noise coming from the motor, so im hoping its just the head gasket

A sparkplug doesn't close it's own gap. I'd guess you have serious issues.

When my plug gap was closed, the top of my piston broke and beat it down....

Yeah seems #7 often is the piston to die first.

ya, i know it doesnt close itself, but if i did break the piston, wouldnt i hear it clunking around, unless it was maybe a small enough piece to shoot out the exhaust.

you think there is any chance it was something else?

I had a big piece break off, surprisingly enough, it didn't go through the turbo... It was like nuclear f-ing meltdown... I didn't hear it... Just a loud bang on mine when it cracked the cylinder, and I shut it off, started it back up, at idle it was quiet, no back firing, under load driving it would backfire out the right bank (I lost #2) but I drove it 15 miles like that, didn't lose coolant and it still ran.

thats what i was thinking, but i have no idea how shipping would be on the motor.

looks like i get to start my winter project a little earlier if i chunked number 7.

looks like ill be pulling the head tomorrow just so i can see wht i fucked up on it. i dont think ill get lucky and have it just be a valve or something, i have a good feeling its the piston, hopefully it didnt tear up the cylinder walls

if you can afford it i would go ahead and plan for a forged shortblock.that way when you spray you won't have to worry as much, too many motors have died because of the jug !

I just had the same problem. I was in the middle of a race when my car fell on its face then died. I had to replace the mass air meter and got it running again. then when i was testing it out I through #1 rod out the oil pan and out the side of the block. Safest thing to do first is compression check carefully then pull it apart becuase you have problems and maybe its not to late to salvege most of your motor.

ok, i did a compression test, and all the cylinders are at 150-160 so i still need to pull the head off to see what the real damage is
