Pro Mod I-beam rod torque
Read an article, these rods use bolt stretch instead of torque... Another article said to torque to 70 ft-lbs. I don't have a rod bolt stretch gauge, how many ft-lbs are recommended? Opinions?

Gonna pick up a stretch gauge... Is that the actual spec for those rod bolts? 4.5-5 thousandths of an inch? Only problem I see, is that these rods were already used... Doesn't affect stretch and strength?

I torqued mine to 75ft-lbs. They had already been stretched when they were installed the first time so there is no way of knowing what the proper torque is. I heard 70-75 ft-lbs if torquing after stretched is about right. You don't have to get new bolts after stretching. When checking/setting bearing clearances, the bolt bolts are tightened and loosened many times. 810 miles on the motor and my rods are still in one piece.

I would definitely trust you.. If it was going to let go, it would've done it by now! LOL I agree, I was going to shoot for 70 ft lbs... Thanks for the advice guys, and thanks for chiming in Ferocity, always good to hear from you!
