GMPP LS6 Heads (65cc)
Just wondering if anyone has a set of these heads, and what they think of them. Lingenfelter sells them and I think TSP does also. I was thinking these heads would be good with my GT2-3 camshaft.
My next choice would be the Edlebrock heads from TSP. Anyone have any guesses how these two heads would match up ? (both 65cc)

The GMPP heads have been around for a while. From the research I did on them a while back, they were supposedly designed around the low lift ASA cam, so they generate good airflow at under .550, although they don't really fall off much after that. I think Lingenfelter is who designed the port...
If you want to see how that exact setup did (with the GT2-3 cam), see this if you haven't already:

I know someone who was going to go with that cam and heads, but elected for a slightly larger cam (222/224 I believe) also from LPE. He did use the GMPP heads though. Very nice setup with good low end power. Light Z06 valves in the heads allow the Z06 springs to be used with this cam. Ed Potter at LPE won't steer you wrong.

I did run a 12.32@112.64 the other day with it, so there is 11 second potential in an F-Body with the same mods as me. But the heads only gained me .25 and 1 mph better than cam only setup.
Still nobody would know what is in there as it still idles like stock. Since so many people didn't know what I was talking about, I stopped saying I changed the cam.
I am getting ready to pull the GT2-3 and drop in a different cam to hopefully take advantage of the heads better.

Combined used to be 23-25 mpg all the time. Now its 20-22mpg. For such a mild setup, that is pretty pathetic. I'm sure if I stepped up to 3.91 gears, it might get better as I've noticed it does improve with some revs. But that's not going to happen any time soon.
That is one of the reasons why I'm going to a bigger cam. Gas mileage should be the same or better. But I really want better low end torque, that's the main reason for switching. 4000 lbs. takes some power to get going

[QUOTE=Rob]With stock heads and GT2-3, I could get 30mpg on the highway with a best of 33mpg once. After the swap, I'm lucky to get 24mpg. It was 21 or so before I really started trying to get it better with tuning.

Are you saying that the city gas mileage did not change much? What size are the intake ports on these heads? Is that the cause of the change in mileage?
