Default Banged the limiter, how do I tell if I have bent p-rods?

I hit it about 3 times. How do I tell if I have bent push rods? I didn't hear any ticking or anything so do you think I got lucky?

The stock limiter is pretty conservative. Dont sweat it too much unless you are on the juice. If you are.... DANGER.

If the pushrods were bent, You Would Know Something Was Wrong

lol you'll know i broke one clean in half also had a couple of pretty bends in it too....you'll hear a LOUD ticking you'll know its not normal and then the car might start running like **** throwing misfire codes and such like mine did but mine was broke so i think that might have been a LITTLE worse than just bent ohhwell its fixed now and im happy hehe

Thanks guys. I thought that if I banged the limiter the p-rods would surly bend. The strange thing is that when it hit the limiter the stock tach was reading about 6,300-6,500. Does the stock tach suck that bad? Is the stock limeter 6,100 or 6,200?

Just hitting the rev limiter by way of the engine revving will not neccessarily bend pushrods (never heard this happending). Mechanically revving the motor past 6200 rpm by way of the drivetrain will float the valves and bend them or the pushords (downshifting too low a gear).

If your car is ticking or idling poorly you may have bent some.

Also depends on how hard you hit it.

When I had my 98SS M6, I hit it on spray a few times, no problem. But my buddy did a 3-2 backshift at WOT and bent all of them.

Well, I guess there's a first time for everything! I didn't even hit the limiter, and bent a couple of pushrods! The valve springs turned out to be wa-y-y under spec and the resulting valve float caused it. Live and learn!

I've hit the rev limiter many, many times. Even as high as a 6500 rpm limit. So far so good but you are on borrowed time if you continue to hit it with the stock pushrods. Downshifting into the wrong gear bends the pushrods because you go way high in the rpms sometimes. Its not the fact that you hit the limiter but you floated the valves.
