Definitely go with the FTRA. All our testing was done over and above the results achieved with the FRA mod. We still saw 2 tenths and 1.5-2.0 MPH in the 1/4. We also saw 5-10 % improvement in fuel economy.

What do ya think about ducting add'l ram air from the lower "pooper scoopers" on the SS. In other words, open up the two "fake" intake areas behind the grille (remove the styrofoam by dremmeling an opening to match the opening behind) and use a 2.5" reducer connected to a 1.5" flex duct protruded through the black cover piece in front of the condensor and mount just under the FTRA intake? Currently, I have these ducts connected to the bottom of the air box via two 1.5" cut-outs (sealed) w/ panty hose banded around the duct ends. This system seems to work pretty well...I see a definite impression on the filter. I could easily add the FTRA intake and cut the ducts back to just under the opening and tie off to the brace. I hope this makes sense....let me know what ya think? Randy

Re: Should I do the FTRA or the FRA??
The FTRA will give you much better gains over just the FRA mod as it will force more air into your engine than the FRA alone. It was the first mod I did along with a new air lid, and the gains were great. From 40 mph on up when I punched it the car pulled so much harder than before. After I got my exhaust I took the car to the track and ran a 8.72 @ 85.52 mph in the 1/8 and a 13.26 @ 107.5 in the 1/4 mph. Thats with an A4 w/ 2:73 gears. If I could have gotten a 1.9 or even a 2.0 60' I could have dipped into the 12s. Now I can't give all the credit to the FTRA, but I feel it had the most to due with my times and trap speed.

Hey 2K2LS1, i was wondering where did ya get that silicone hose around your throttle body from. I was interested in gettin' something like that for my WS6 cause i wanna get rid of that bellows and have a smooth path to the throttle body but it's hard to find something that will bend up alittle for my car's raised airbox
thanks

Fast Toys - Perhaps you could clarify (since it is your product) if you should or shouldn't block off the front of the air box on the SS and WS6 models?

Re: Should I do the FTRA or the FRA??
For the best performance, you SHOULD block the front of the air box on ram air cars with the seal provided in the kit.
Please note that on WS6 cars only, the front of the air box is 1/2" too tall for the seal included in the kit. On these cars, you will have to supplement our seal with some foam weather stripping or tape.
Thanks

Re: Should I do the FTRA or the FRA??
I just recently posted a reply and indicated I wanted to duct the FRA in conjunction with the FTRA. I understand the FRA has been around for some time, but I extended the ducts through 1.5" cut outs in the bottom of the air box. To do the FTRA I will obviously have to cut the ducts back to a point under the FTRA intake area. Do you think the FRA will have a positive effect on the FTRA gains?
