Reaching the oil sending unit w/out removing the intake?

Reaching the oil sending unit w/out removing the intake?
While installing the factory intake back on the car, I beleive I killed the sending unit. How I did that I don't know, but the oil guage reads 0 . I have removed and installed that intake 3 times in the past two days working out several bugs, and I really don't feel like doing it again. Anybody been able to replace the sensor without removing the intake?

I remember JS had his replaced after his was acting flaky. Dunno if they used the GM tool or what.

If your oil gauge is reading zero, you may have in fact broken the oil gauge sender. I pulled the intake to swap mine, I am not sure you can get a wrench in there Damian.

Hey John, I know it's the guage for sure. It was working perfecting before taking off the LS6 intake, and the car has just sat since then. Soooo, it's definately not the pump. I guess i'll go take the fuggin intake off again. Demodding SUCKS

27mm??! Damn! That's friggin huge for a sensor! I don't think I have a deep socket in that size. I'll have to check, update:
Dealer can't get the part until Friday and I have people wanting to look at the car today, when it rains it pours
Is there any possible way that I unplugged it by accident? I do not even remember touching it, but I may have knocked the connector off?

With the car cool, reach back there and see. Guys, does that sensor have a male/female connector? I think it does, make sure it's plugged in.

Yes, we broke it when putting the LS6 intake on Jsears8's car. We didn't even notice it until we started the car up. The car ran fine and we even dynoed it the next day. LOL The intake was removed to replace it.

Re: Reaching the oil sending unit w/out removing the intake?
It's nearly impossible to get to it w/ the intake still on. It is just too much easier to pull the intake and save yourself the trouble.
BTW, Kent-Moore makes a tool just for the oil pressure sending unit. If you don't have access to one, try a really deep 27mm socket.
