I am trying to figure out what I want to do to my car and am looking for opinions. The title pretty much covers it all.
Thanks,

I have a loudmouth and it reallys sounds awesome but I do not have headers yet. I am in the process of putting on some SLP LT's with ORPS and from what other people say it becomes nasty sounding so you may want to shy away from the LM if you are going to do headers. It really does sound good though with the cats and stock manifolds. I'm not sure exactly what exhaust Im going to go with yet but the two that I was thinking of is an SLP dual dual with cutouts(so it can be real quiet and also loud and really free flowing if I want) or possibly a Hooker which is really cheap and I haven't seen a negative post about it yet. I have also heard a corsa on a heads/cam car and it sounds bad a**. Its really loud but like they say no drone. I heard a dual dual on a cammed car and it sounds really good too almost like a dragster but quiet and not annoying at all. Anyways good luck with whatever you choose.

I have a loudmouth and I love it. However, I rode as a passenger in the front and rear the other day, and it seemed much louder! I had a cutout on my stock exhaust. It was cool for a while, but I got sick of the "untuned" sound. Loudmouth does sound better. My ideal setup would be FLPs with cats/no cats, SLP Loudmouth w/ a XR1 bullet. This means you could change from somewhat loud (cats) to very loud (no cats)!

I want to keep a low profile on the street. So, I run a Dynomax Ultraflow race welded 3" core, offset inlet, center outlet with the single outlet on the driver's side. Nice deep rumble, great flow and non-alerting, especially with Z28 badges removed and roof painted to match the body.

120 bucks for muffer and install, sounds way better then stock. 60 bucks for cut-out and install, for track and when I feel like being noticed and heard

I have the loud mouth and long tube headers with cats and I somewhat like my set up. Its loud and sounds pretty mean but I want something a bit deeper even if its not as loud.
The drone/resonance used to bug the heck out of me but Ive gotten used to it especially since the drone/resonance seemed to have died down after I had the headers installed. I have been looking at replacing the "resonator" with a Dynomax ultra flow round muffler but I dont think it'll fit. I know their Bullet muffler will fit but that wont really sound too different from what I have now.

I had the 3.5" Mufflex, but I'm now running the 3" SLP dual/dual, and I LOVE it! It's MUCH quieter than the Mufflex, and I still have a system that flows really well. I can definitely feel the difference in low-end torque w/ the dual/dual vs. the Mufflex. The Mufflex was too big for my setup, and it was WAY too loud for my liking! I bought it used for $200.

LM on mine now, I don't think it's all that loud and it doesn't resonate at all. Just the right sound.

I have the Loudmouth with MACs and a custom Y using the factory cats. Not too loud at idle, but above 3000...pretty nasty.

Thanks Dude! Does this restrict, aid, or have no effect on flow when compared to the resonator?

3.5" Mufflex, sounds great. It was very deep sounding. Then I added headers and off road Y and its not as deep, more trashcan/metallic sounding. I love it, althought sometimes its a bit too loud (at night).

I'm running just a flowmaster 40 series 3" single in/out muffler with the stock exhaust ahead of it. It gave about a 0.10 second pick-up, and not very expensive to do ($60 bucks for muffler and 20 bucks of 3" pipe). Not too loud either, and the 2300 rpms at 75 on the highway there is very little drone, the way I like it.

I've got headers, orp, cutout, and Supertrapps. The Supertrapps sound awesome ...but I mainly run the exhaust through my cutout (like 99% of the time)

I did some measuring today - No, the Dynomax Race (6" round) will NOT fit. It can/will hit the DS. But the Borla XR1 will fit. These mufflers are a "straight-through" type. They'll help quiet the LM down some, and I doubt it would reduce flow any.
