Default Did I get the right TB??? help! Picture attached..

I got my ported TB today but when I pulled the original on off they looked VERY different inside.. BTW my SS is a 2000. The new unit has two small round shaped hole in the throat wall (PCV, etc) while the stock unit has much larger square shaped holes (tunnels).. Click the link for a picture.. the one on the left is the stock unit..

Second question would be does it matter that it is different.. (Maybe this is one off a 98/99??)

TIA

Hmm I'm a little lost here. There shouldn't be any holes (square or otherwise) in your MAF. Nevermind PCV stuff, etc?

Hmm it just dawned on me, you're probably talking about a ported TB, not a ported MAF. Yes, they are different between years. You probably got a 98/99 one.

Oops.. my bad.. i will blame it on the cold medicin.. Yes, I meant Throttle Body.. and if I did get a 99/98 unit then is there a problem or less of a gain running it on a 2000?? Sorta sucks if they sent me the WRONG YEAR..

I think the actual TB housings are the same through the years. Its the throttle shafts that were different. Are you meaning looking at the front of the TB where company's like MMS epoxy fill and then drill the holes for the IAC motor and the crankcase fresh air hole?

Just seen the pic, that is a MMS ported TB. They fill that area in with epoxy and leave those 2 holes open like that, its supposed to increase flow with it filled like that. BTW It should work just fine

I dyno'd my LPE ported TB this weekend, it was worth 3 rwhp and 5 rwtq. Others have got 3-4rwhp and 3-5rwtq on bolt on cars. Gains in the 10 hp range can happen with heads and cam cars.

Steve, IIRC my 2001's throttle body looks exactly like the one on the right side (two round holes). Maybe those are for 2001 and 2002?

One on the right has definitly been epoxied
And could use some more leading edge work
(my.02) Size of bypass holes will affect idle
speed (just a side note)As IAC valve is now
restricted by hole size drilled Can use this
fact to play with idle and TB for aftermarket

Those look like the exact same throttle body to me. They are all the same man. Bolt it on and have fun.
