need help diagnosios i thought i had an exhuast leak one of my buddies looked at my car yesterday and said my valves were tapping a couple of weeks ago i was having a problem with my car overheating and spewwing out of my overflow so i changed my stat to a 160, my rad cap and about a week later my car was leaking from the waterpump weep hole. for a while now my car at high rpms kicks black smoke and it backfires coming back down in the rmps. could bent pushrods have blown one of my head gasket causing my car to overheat and valves to not close? if so can i changed my own head gaskets and pushrods i have a pretty good automotive knowledge or i like to think.
no intake swap? are all mods listed everything you have done? you may try a leak\smoke test those intakes are know to leak and fail and while your at it pressure test your radiator.

ok so the water pumps the only thing leaking i had a ticking noise coming from the drivers head its now gotten worse after i changed pushrods hooping for bent ones the noise remains stead as you increase rpms not really louder just faster
