What are you looking to do? The Stock LS1 block is safe for 700+ rwhp. $6000 for a block is Later

Im just looking at everything that is indestructable.

The ARE price is with a core exchange, that brings the price of the block up to whatever an LS1 block costs. I am estimating the cost at about a 2600 difference.
Anyone know what an 7l short block might be from ARE? I called them but I have not heard back from them.

The C-5R block is already a 427 and its aluminum.

hmmmm....you cant get 427cid without a crank can you? i believe stock bore on the block is 4.120". the price does not include a crank as far as i know.
They still need all the finish machine work which adds a bit to the cost. They do come with heads and main studs and billet caps though.
So there is some value in the block if you want to build it outright. If you are doing it on exchange then our 427 motor resleeved would be the way to go. For $8195 + core you get a built shortblock with heavy duty rods, pistons and crank. It's assembled, balanced and blueprinted with file fit rings, MMS oil pump, MMS cam and a Hex adjust timing chain.
There is a bit of a backorder currently, due to crank supply issues. If we install and tune the motor it comes with a 2yr/24Kmile warranty.
The story is ARE will have a 7l block. MMS and MTI may have them as well.
I have concerns about the longevity of the ARE MMS MTI resleeved blocks.
Good luck.

Mike,
Am I reading this correctly...If you get the C5R block, it comes with heads?? If so, is that the 6K price and which style head: LS1 vs LS6?
Also, almost forgot, what does the price come to on the "finish" machine work the C5R block needs? I know it requires a cylinder hone, anything else?
Thanks,
Todd

NO, he meant to say Head Studs.

Darn, that would have been to good a deal to pass up...I figured he meant something else, but it is worth checking. Maybe they are running a special or something.

California just seems too far away.
I think Houston is the closest.
Thanks
