As was posted last month ARE has a new Street Eliminator Heads/Cam package. Since someone has to be first, and since they're local to me, I decided to give the package a try.
The heads are ported and use stock valves, Comp 918 springs, and are milled for 10.8:1 compression. The cam is a custom ARE Lunati grind on 114LSA. ARE also put on Mac headers, with a custom 3" Y pipe. New chrome moly pushrods were installed, as were new plug wires as I had a bad one.
Anyhow, I was there yesterday when they made a few pulls on the dyno. The results can be viewed here: Dyno Results
I now know how all you guys and gals feel when talking about your preferred shop. Nick, Wade, Barry, and all the guys at ARE treated me great, and my car even better. It's nice dealing with a place that gets as much enjoyment out of their results as the customer
The dyno results turned out better than I was expecting, and I think better than they were expecting. Thanks a lot guys, I've had a perma grin non stop since yesterday afternoon. Driving it home 60 miles today was the icing on the cake.
Time to update my sig I guess....

Thanks Tony! It's amazing how far LS1 technology has come in the past three years. In answer to your question, nope, I'm running the stock LS1 intake. I'm also still running the stock tuning, no MAFT, no underdrive pullies etc. My only mods are those I've listed. 400 RWHP is easily attainable from here, but funds are running a bit low now

Bugblndr, Congrats! Those are good numbers. You should definitely try LS6 intake as soon as you can.
BTW: I love your dyno comparisons of all different setups. Shows very nicely what cutout is worth for example.
Enjoy new power!

Congrats on your new package, things like this are always fun . Have you added an LS6 intake yet? Also, those 4.10 gears are taking about 8-10 "dyno" rwhp from your setup.

I dunno, I lost 7rwhp on the dyno adding 4.10s and 26/10/15 slicks (@25psi pressure). I have to think most of the loss was from the slicks (they are on steel rims, come in at 44#each).
The package seems similar to my old MMS stage 1 setup, I'm glad more shops are coming out with lower price parts.

BTW on my MMS stage 1 package, I hit 400 with the stock intake, and saw no gain with the LS6 intake. Mildly ported heads don't seem to pick up much with the LS6 from my experience.

Jason99T/A - Hopefully Nick will pop in here and give more info. The only more I can add is that it is a split pattern cam.
EuG - I looked at all the dyno runs onscreen with Wade and got him to print off the comparisons I thought relevant. Incidentally, with my prior meager mods, the cutout gave me the same 10RWHP uncapped. LS6 intake will have to wait. I'm running on 4 bald F1's and am counting on needing a new clutch REAL soon.
Terry Burger - On my previous mods, I dynoed the difference between the 4.10's and the 3.42's with the stock 17" rims/rubber. I lost just about 7hp with the switch. I for one am also glad that there are now more players with budget setups

My car is due at Nick's on March 12. It's really good to hear more about the great service he gives. Thanks for the post.

[quote]Nice. Looks a tad bit lean, what did Nick think?

My car has already run a bit on the lean side. Neither Nick or Wade seemed concerned with the A/F ratio, so neither am I

I had ARE install a similar package in my vette close to 2 years ago now. Very similar dynos before I added the LS6 intake. I am just under 400hp and 38?tq on a Mustang Dyno. Consistant bottom 12's at 116 to 118 on DR's all day. Did I mention I have put around 25k mi since this package was installed on my car! Most corvette owners cringe at the way I this thing. I spun a bearing prior to the install so they went through the whole motor for me.
Congrats and Good Luck!

Tom,
I've watched your Vette go down the 1/4 mile, several times at St. Thomas. Other Vette owners may cringe, but us F-guys just
2 Years and 25k sounds like a pretty reliable setup to me

Congrats! Those are great numbers!
Just think with pulleys, and a couple of small things you will be over 400 RWHP easy Can't wait to see you at the track this year. My car goes in for its new HC package on Feb 18th. I can't wait
Cheers,
Chris
