Default My motor is SOLD! New project time.....

Well, I'll be out of the racing game for 2-3 months now, I just sold my motor today to a local guy to put in his C5. Its going to take about 2-3 months before my new motor is finished (huge backorder at MTI for motors/heads).

What am I going to do next? I'll just keep you all in suspense for 3 months......

So you sold it? Cool.
That sucks you don't have the new one ready to go in your car.

Peace,
Craig.

Crager, I'm not too worried about not having a motor to swap in immediately. I wasn't going to set any plans down in stone until this current motor was sold first anyways. I was still enjoying the current one!

Round Rock, funny guess! Gotta remember that I still like driving my car on the streets and running with full weight. This car is a NICE car and will stay that way until I buy another "fun" daily driver.

Toxic, I'll probably be at the LS1Tech dyno-day, but without a car to dyno. Maybe I'll put the Amigo on the rollers! (hell no!)

I kinda know what he might be planning, but ain't saying. Whatever it is, expect the bar to be raised for all of us.

Glad you sold it Tony, but I have to ask, how are you going to do with the withdrawal pains here in the meanwhile?

Well that cool since you planned it that way. I know you were just on the edge of them 10's and HRP sucked to much lately for you to get a decent run in.
Good luck on the new motor! Go get some 10's, hell 9's!!!

Congrats on selling your motor Tony, but I know it would have cracked a 10 and I wish you would have done it before it was gone. Oh well, 9 for the next one, right?

I hear you Mickey, I was really hoping for a 10-second pass with this setup. BUT, once Jason 98 TA hit 10s first with his 6-speed and then you followed shortly after, it wasn't as much of a priority for me then. I wanted to be FIRST! haha

Besides that, I still have alot to do even without a motor. When the car is back running again, it should be much improved in all aspects. And NO, I'll not be gutting this car. Full weight drag racing for me, anything removed will just be replaced with something lighter

-I'm thinking I'll be going up to 1-7/8" stepped Dynatechs with a custom 3" Y-pipe
-I still need 15x10 rear Draglites (giving up 3" of contact patch on both slicks right now)
-I'd love to get a chromoly PA crossmember and arms
-HAL shocks all the way around - in the mail
-I've already installed my LG Motorsports torque arm and adjustable LCA's
-"T3" cam coming soon!

Oh yeah, my next project will be bigger than a 382ci. How much bigger? Hehehehe.

I think I'll just set my new goals for being the quickest/fastest NA 6-speed.

Congrats on selling the motor Tony. Now it's time to move up. I can't wait to hear what you have planned. Your car is going to be unreal.

I am guessing a 422CI hyd cam motor, LS6 heads. Should make 500rwhp and run 10.7@127 in Tony's car.

I am guessing a 422 stroker/solid cammed engine or a 442 stroker/solid cammed engine...

I figure since the new holley intake is coming out, he will probably see what the results are with the intake and port match it to one of these engine combos and get some 550+ rwhp dyno #'s...

I figure he is going to try to do mid 10's on motor and maybe a shot of gas for 9's...

Am I about right???

Come on Terry, have you ever known me to do things that have already been done by MTI before? Each of my setups have been unique, the first one on the net to install a 112 LSA cam (T1), the first all-bore 382ci setup, and now ???

Things are still being laid out on the drawing board. I think I'll be sticking with NA setups for now, I don't want a 10-point monkey bar in my nice car. What is the fastest/quickest T56 equipped 4th gen running right now on motor?

10.8s? For LS1s and LT1s? I think my new goal might be too easy then, I could have gotten there with this motor if I kept working at it.

I'd love some 10.50s in full street trim....
