improvement w/ aftermarket rocker arms?
what kind of improvements do aftermarket RRs cause? right now im running the stockers w/ 7.4 TSP hardened push rods and patriot gold springs. My cam is the T2 from TSP 232/234 .595/.598 112 and im running untouched 243 heads as well as a 90/90 set up. what would be the difference between the
1.7:1 & 1.8:1 rockers? would i notice improvement in anything? and if i got new ones would it be necessary to get different length PRs? thanks in advance for helping out this valvetrain newbie

putting 1.8's on an already agressive ramp rate can be a cause of valve float, valve bounce, and will shorten the life of your springs. If you go with 1.8's, stay with a small cam.

it wouldn't be different for spring life. alot of people have harland sharp rebuild their stock rockers, some buy aftermarket. the needle bearing seems to want to come loose on high mile stock rockers, otherwise, they are fine.

The only real benefits I could see to going with a stock ratio, aftermarket rocker arm assembly would be:
Adjustability (provided the rocker is adjustable, because there are some roller rockers that aren't)
Less overall wear on the valves and guides (a big assumption on my part)
If it was a shaft mount setup, I'd think that it would also give a little more accurate accuation of the valves since flexing would be kept to a minimum. Then again, I've never had roller rockers, so these are only guesses.
