And if so, is there any benefit to it? Especially if I grind away the 4 little bars in the opening of the hood that faces the airbox. I've thought about installing the WS6 piece, and then porting, so to speak, the opeing in the hood where the air from the scoop goes into the airbox. Any ideas?

I don't think it would fit at all. My friend had a TransAm and it had a little more room then my SS and it came up about 1/4 short in the front and about 3/8th of an inch in the rear.
But if you find a way to shave it down, who knows...
But I agree. A ram air is the way to go. You don't get enough air into your engine compartment to utilize the WS6 box.

You might want to consider a FIPK ... it will take better adavantage of your SS hood and when it's all said and done is less expensive than the FTRA.

I am not sure if the box would help you out any. I am not too familiar with how the ss intake system works but it is obviously different from the ws6 so it might not even help if it would fit.. Try it anyway it wouldn't hurt to try it

Brian, About opening up the slots in the hood. I saw a post on the SLP board about this. Dave H. and JeffY posted that it could affect the structural integrity of the hood.
Seems like some people have raised the SS box with washers and then sealed the edges with foam rubber. Get Bean-o to handle this for ya, LOL!
