Pics of dual exhaust, going over the axle.
Here are 3 pics. They may take time to download, until I can resize them. Not the best quality pic, but it's something. If you have grott headers, I can hook you up with the setup that dumps before the axle. Enjoy.

That is the best looking system I have seen yet for these cars...
If I said to you I wanted one JUST like it, could you make or have made more of them?
Tell us about the sound and if there is any interference on lowered cars...

see I would be interested in that setup for sure.
What do you think it would cost to "mass" produce. Or do at least a small run? I would prefer to have the mufflers where you had them originally too.
Cheers,
Chris

also, there have been many posts and thoughts about a 3" non-mandrel bent system does not outflow a 3" mandrel system. i assume this is not mandrel bent, but i cant see it that clearly. how about the thought of non-mandrel bent dual? i am only a hotcammed car with a cutout on stock catback. wonder if this is for me?

Re: Pics of dual exhaust, going over the axle.
It's not a quiet exhaust, that's for sure. But now with it over the axle, it is bearable. I can hold a conversation now. With it before the axle, it was hard to talk. Dont get me wrong, I liked it before the axle the best, because of the weight savings. It is almost as loud as the loudmouth, but without the shitty rasp.
I wish I had left the bullets right where I had them, before the axles, it would have been easier to work some tips in there, but no problem switching them. & putting some bolt on flanges there so that I can interchange mufflers until I get the sound I want.
This is not mandrel bent, however, the manifold back that I am working on, will be mandrel. It will only be available for those with Grott headers, and the stock manifolds, as those are the only 2 that I have access too. I would like to make it an over the axle one, but I think I'm going to start with it dumping before the axle, as I originally had. Prices, I'm not sure just yet. I'm thinking $350-400 range. I'm not sure what kinda interest there would be in a complete over the axle set up, as the price would be more, and making the pipe over the axle, is very time consuming. But I'm open if there is enough interest.
My car is lowered, I have only scraped a few times, but then again, I dont run over speed bumps either.
With the muflers where I originally had them, this would work just as good on a TA, as you could put whatever tip you wanted on there.
Yes, I have ASR, not a problem.
I have about 8 different designs planned, more on the others later, I gotta work on the before the axle set up first.

Re: Pics of dual exhaust, going over the axle.
That's a good question. I cant see the gain by putting them in the Y, but maybe would if you did that & just ran pipe all the way back with no other muffler. Should be similar to what others have done to cure the loudmouth drone. I think they lessened the drone, but didn't pick up any power. I could see a gain with a 3" Y, bullets in each side of the Y, going into a flowmaster collecter & 3.5 all the way out to the back. The problem with what you are thinking compared to the duals, is that the 2 pipes coming together to form the Y, are not going to flow near as well as a dual. Probably not as big a deal on a stock, but a head & cam car, or nitrous-FI, I think the gains would be big.

I'm thinking of 3" to your X-pipe then 3" back to cut outs right before it goes over the axle. Then 2.5" from the cut outs over the axle to the mufflers and out. This would give a nice sound. Not too loud and equal or better than a 3" single. Then when you uncap the cut outs at the track, barely any restriction. Great thing is, I'm planning on having it done by the same guy as you.

Re: Pics of dual exhaust, going over the axle.
Would there be room for bullet style mufflers on the I-pipes? I like a quieter set-up and was thinking about x-pipe back to cut-out into bullets and then over the axle into a second set of bullets. Open the cut-outs at the track for max performance and quiet on the street.
I had also thought about using the muffler from the SLP 2OTL. Put one on each side, and not use any bullets.

Re: Pics of dual exhaust, going over the axle.
Very nice looking.
Couple of questions for you. Is there enough room to go over the axles with a 12-bolt and can a DS loop be used without mods. It's hard to tell from the pictures.
Thanks

No PSJ, I do not have the upper panhard bar. It didn't do anything anyway
James, that sounds like a good idea. Just get with Ken & he will hook you up.
I dont know about the 12 bolt & driveshaft loop. I made my own driveshaft loop. I would think that if you had those 2 things on there already, then the exhaust could be built around that.

Yes, that looks very nice. Whoever installed it appears to have done a great job. Worth waiting for the download

look about 1/2 the page up. he used to have them dumped before the axle, but i guess he wanted something different.
